Nope. Hdmi max only 1080pInteresting 27 inches...I'm interested in getting one for work to make use of the estate space available. Enhance productivity.
I intend to run the monitor via my laptop which is powered by a GEFORCE 9300M GS card and this has a HDMI output port.
I have searched but cannot confirm the maximum resolution this card can support. The spec from NVIDIA appears to suggest it supports displays up to 2560x1600 over Dual-link DVI. However, in my laptop, I only have a HDMI (1.3) output.
Can a HDMI to DVI adapter support operation of these monitors.
How do you know your monitor is faulty since the power brick is working?

technically speaking for all mini-dp ports. But people usually only need such adapters when using their macs because that is their only option of using a secondary display.
just wanna ask.. for this monitor it needs dual link dvi right? wad does it mean? i have a dvi-d port onboard on my z68 mobo.. or do i need a graphics card?
When the monitor can't even be turn on despite me trying a few power points.
From technical perspective ... it should work.
After further testing and carrying the monitor down to SLT, the fault is with the adapter, have to grab a new adapter. Take note that SLT dont have the adapter with the head for crossover. To buy a new adapter, find one with 24V and 5A then ask the person to solder the head onto the adapter. Screw the QC passed sign on the power brick given.
That's what I suspected (that's why I asked). Good thing you found the problem. How much is the power brick by the way?

Sadly not that simple. The single link DVI-D port on my AMD 6950? Looks identical to the dual link port. Just because it has all the pins / holes as a dual link port doesn't automatically make it support dual link. Apparently the graphics card also must be able to drive a dual-link signal out of the port.
Har? Your AMD6950 cannot power this monitor? My almost 2yrs old GTX460 is powering 2 x 27" monitor now with no problem. Lucky for me that I don't play game much, if not confirm must upgrade to GTX670 liao.
It's not a matter of how modern the graphics card is unfortunately. Your GTX460 has a pair of dual-link DVI ports. The 6950 has only one; the second one is a single-link DVI port (see Chapter 4 first page) .
