Hi All,

4) Confirm, able to do extend card expiry through hi!Account ($1.40 for 90days) This is the single most important feature for me. The rest is bonus!:s12:

So if I want to keep the number indefinitely I just need to keep paying $1.40 every time the 90 days is ending?

Can I assume that all denominations of Hi! cards expiry can be extended and not just the 4g one? Like the $15 one below

ST Prepaid

Short answer Yes, as long as promo is on and you deduct 1.40 from your main account, you get 90days validity.

Assuming ST continue to roll out this 1.40 for 90days (I am sure there are fine print somewhere in there that says ST reserve the right to change/terminate this promo)

Below are the validity extension for each top up. Source : http://info.singtel.com/personal/phones-plans/mobile/prepaid/top-up-where-to-buy-and-check-balance

Thanks.. I'm currently still a postpaid user with m1. But nowadays the same amount you pay gives lesser and lesser value. Last time data is 12gb/month regardless of the plan now it's only 2gb. And the cheapest postpaid is $39 for all telcos not inclusive of caller ID. And the most infuriating thing is the g***n camp can come up with their stupid SS HD plan which IMO is a total swindle for suckers at 68/mth with just 500mb data. Who needs unlimited SMS now when everyone's using whatsapp and line nowadays?

I assume the Hi!card also comes with callerid right?

the telcos price increase has reached a point whereby consumers are looking at cheaper alternative

they are selling a product with free sms and talktime that nobody use and increasing the price of data which is in demand

looking at M1's financials, 2 things are happening

those on 12GB plan are buying their own phone and continueing the contract without a subsidised phone hence while the revenue has gone down, the profit has gone up as M1 no longer needs to subsidise around S$400 per user for 2 years and the amount becomes profit as 12GB does not cost M1 a cent to produce

those on postpaid that are price sensitive are switching to prepaid which is cheaper as it is pay as you use

only hicard can extend validity by deduction of main balance hence eventually it would corner the price sensitive prepaid market

i expect starhub and m1 to report significant decline in number of prepaid users in 4Q13

i will be buying a normal S$15 hicard to use on my nokia 1280 as a pager without topping up for 3.5 years

i find 3G on my tab 2 to be slow and frustrating and even the lightest smartphone cannot be as long lasting as my nokia 1280 2 week battery life

not sure why nobody mentioned starhub prepaid has the longest validity period.
i got one spare number that i have more than 2years already. Every six months has to top up with $8 green card which is bought from 7-eleven.

can't find m1 or st prepaid card that has "free" 6 mths to retain number.

non-promotional price is $3. but so far, it's always under promotion. :D

Not to forget, the monthly sub pricing during the contract and after might be different.. nowadays unlimited talk time is pointless.. But I really have to hand it to you for turning a hicard into a cheapo pager.. haha.. :s13:

Once my contract ends, switching over to prepaid as well.. ;)

together we can bring starhub and m1 to lose money and go bankrupt in 2014 with no more dividend

if you look at the CPI numbers, there is hint of deflationary pressure in nov/dec 2013 whereby the CPI drop 0.3% due to clothing & footwear, transport and communication

capitalist don't like deflation as it reduces their revenue and profit number which affects their bonus

poor people with stagnant wages love deflation as chicken rice price drop from S$2.50 back to S$2.00

the government increase price of private transport and the telco increase price is the same reason, to boost corporate profit and fatten the wallets of the top brass that do nothing

my observation is more and more people are tightening their wallets by trading down to reduce daily expenses

from buy straits times to reading today

from using postpaid to using prepaid sim

from eating food court to hawker

from living condo to living hdb

deflation is good for the poor as their wage will never rise so when the price of goods and services drop, they are happy

capitalist like our government and ceo of telcos depend on inflation to create artifical economic growth to boost their bonus

together we can stop this nonsense and change the government in 2016

unfortunately, retaining the same number is not possible now.

Who cares.. my current m1 data usage every month is not even 10% of the 12gb allocated to me. Wasting money only..
