the 1gb cannot extend only 1 week to use then all gone

its 4g card so if use iphone 5s is 4g speed

my tab 2 is 3g so 3g speed but is faster than my old starhub prepaid

i intend to turn off the data after 1 week

as office and house got wifi can whatsapp for free

bedok library, bedok mall and bedok point got wireless@sg

the adaptor is about $1.74 on gmarket

so the nano can covert to micro or normal sim

song daz $20 pager can last 7 years no need to top up

all the telcos go bankrupt and no more dividend

i downloaded whatsapp and the activation deducted 6 cents

i send an sms to another hp and 5 cents was deducted

how come whatsapp send sms to activate the service more expensive?

before you switch to singtel do note that peak hours is 16 cents per minute and non peak is 8 cents and no per second charging

yes the main reason i switch i seldom use the balance and often accumulate high balance which cannot be used to extend the validity date

if singtel stops this service, i would stop using prepaid sim and use my office phone instead

if you use the phone frequently then you have to look at the different charges of the 3 telcos to meet your needs

i seldom use so no per second charging also is ok especially since starhub stop per second for 1st min which means each call is 22 cents at least when last time is only a few cents when you get nuisance calls

singtel reply their system show deduction

5 cents for 2 sms so total deduct 10 cents

then i ask them where the 1 cent go?

now left S$37.89

singtel don't know simple maths?

if like that telco can anyhow deduct our balance?

i have similar problem with starhub

Re: does the 8 cents per minute after the first mi... - StarHub Community - 60489

i wonder if the utilities and telco the government got audit how they charge consumers or not

sometimes you see the bill also don't know correct or not :s22:

so far i only use sms to test why st deduct 6 cents instead of 5 cents for whatsapp activation

the cso don't seem to know that to register new number for whatsapp the app will send an sms to verify if the number is valid

they say they will check but i think they smoke me never send me email how come they can deduct 1 cent for no reason

if they can do that can you imagine how much money they can deduct from all the prepaid

st is charge by per min 16c peak 8c non-peak which i think is ok

i have discovered that telcos post different charges on their website and the actual charges is actually more

starhub prepaid green card

the 2nd minute call charge is not 8 cents as stated on their website:

Prepaid SIM with HD Voice | Prepaid Plans | StarHub Mobile

the actual charge per second is S$0.0014 rounded up

so 1 min is actually S$0.084

singtel hi card prepaid

the sms is not 5 cents stated on their website:

Prepaid Mobile Cards | SingTel

the actual cost per sms is S$0.051

that is why when my whatsapp send out an sms and i send out another sms, S$0.102 was deducted hence my funny S$37.89 balance which makes no sense

the cso say my actual balance is S$37.898

can you imagine how the utilities charge us we can't even measure the gas, power or water, they say how much we just pay :s22:

i told the cso is not about the 1 cent, is you must state clearly on the website the exact charges and not mislead consumers

now wonder all the telcos make so much money and pay so much dividend

what is IDA, IRAS and yakult doing?

i think its the same problem, the actual charge for peak calls per min could be S$0.16X hence they deduct S$0.17

using it as a pager so is not my concern

using whatsapp on wifi so would not be using sms and data as well

4G HiCard Prepaid

the 4g hicard speed is 5mbps download and 1mbps upload on tab2 3g

I got close to 40Mbps DL / 30 Mbps UL on iPad Mini location outside Bedok Mall. Did only 1 time, every time do a speedtest (speedtest.net) it uses abt 60Mb.

I just bought the 4g card from St. I saw one dam nice number but is for 3g. Just curious will the data plan be 4g if I were to buy the data package at $7 for 1gb later?

You can actually but the 3g card with the nice number then go to hello shop and pay them to upgrade to a 4g card. You will still get the $38 credit plus 1gb (that you can use over 1 week).

The 1gb can be used irregardless whether over 3g or 4g. But take now that it's deducted for both upstream and downstream traffic.

i've called singtel today asking them the exact charges for prepaid per sms, per min charges for peak/non-peak hours

i told them it was misleading they do not state the exact charges online and secretly deduct away S$0.001 in the background which the consumer cannot see as their system only showed 2 decimal places

the cso say they need 7 working days to verify the exact charges as their engineers are checking the system

i told them the cso told me their sms is 5.1 cents yesterday, today the cso say they will need to check again and revert to me by 7 feb 2014 next friday

this is very interesting, singtel do not know how much their system is charging prepaid customers similar to my experience with starhub 8 cents per min is actually 8.4 cents per min

the telcos are overcharging consumers and the IDA is doing nothing

do IDA or the external auditors audit the charging arithmetic of the telcos or the utilities company?

it is ironic that the government send people to check the scales of hawkers when the biggest risk of overcharging is in the utilities and telcos

uncle 168 has opened up a can of worms

Starhub has answered my queries here:

Re: does the 8 cents per minute after the first mi... - StarHub Community - 60489

Singtel told me to wait 7 working days before they tell me what is the actual exact charges for prepaid per sms, per min charges for peak/non-peak hours

I will call them again on 7 feb 2014

please investigate to prevent overcharging

uncle168, kudos to you!

Make sure the IDA officer replying to your email assign a CASE id... else your email will remain in his/her mailbox with no further follow-up action taken ( fyi, i encountered that twice ).
