motherboard problem?

yes the 2 system fan, cpu fan all spinning at full speed.



when i boot up with all the parts in the led light just cycle through cpu and ram then doesnt show anymore. when i remove the ram and boot up the dram led will be on permanently. i also added a motherboard buzzer which the beeping sound came on too when i removed the ram. otherwise normal boot with everything in no sound.

If you buy from a shop, you can bring to the shop let them test.

ah yea lazada shop has 3 year corbell warranty. but what are the chances of 2 different motherboards a old and new one both having the same exact problems though?

You have to bring for checking, no one here will be able to tell what is the problem.
Unless someone take a look at the PC.

though the msi.rom file and then with bios flashback button and usb port. cause couldnt post so thats the only way to flash

Try to flash it with a bare motherboard.

Yeah probably the CPU... u can go get a new one from the techyard(Ryzen 5 5600) for $143. Which is kinda sad cuz u had to buy a new mobo + cpu on the same platform lol. See if can still return the mobo, would be great and then just replace cpu.

pc can turn on everything running and spinning like nothing wrong.
but no post so not even hdd stage yet

before this, your pc got any symptoms? like flickering, lags, black screen for seconds, reboot, bsod etc?

As long no damaged pins, cpu is hard to spoil.
ram/gpu is tested working in another pc.
mobo look alright.

could it be psu?

previously i got 1 case, the psu can power on but cannot provide adequate power to power the whole system.

It seems like a corrupted BIOS that bricked the motherboard. Give one last try. Remove everything except the PSU. Clear the COMS (short JABT) for at least 30 seconds. Update the BIOS.

He try that alot of times already sadly... should have sent the pc to diagnose at a repair shop...

Maybe can try selling the motherboard on carousell or something see if someone will buy. Otherwise maybe order an aliexpress 5700x3d and upgrade cpu

Sometimes the led debug light could be wrong.

Happened to me a few months ago when my computer failed to post. The CPU red light was on even though the culprit was the ram so I do not trust the debugger light too much.

I have messed with mod BIOS before. I flashed mod BIOS on Kabylake motherboard to support Coffelake CPU. Corrupted BIOS can brick the motherboard. The motherboard either appear dead or on boot loop. I have made a mistake of using the BIOS to flash the mod BIOS and that cause the motherboard into boot loop. It needs external programmer like CH341 to flash the BIOS chip. I am not saying TS used mod BIOS. The BIOS could be corrupted during download. I even brought my motherboard to experts and all concluded the motherboard is dead.

left it on afk and it went to sleep. i came back to wake it with keyboard and it never came back so i just hard reset and never posted anymore after that.


anyway i think i have pretty much covered all the base except for cpu which i guess is whats dead.

heres what i have done so far:

tested rams on another rig. no problems with 2 sticks
tested gpu on another rig. gpu ran fine too
tested with another working psu. still same problem.
flashed bios from lowest compatible version up till beta versions testing every bios. still same problem.
tried flashing with cpu and motherboard cable in only.
tried booting with every other parts removed and adding one by one back. debug led show correct error for missing parts. but after full system fixed no debug led error still never post.
removed cpu and reseat it too. same issue.

finally bought a new motherboard msi b550m pro vdh and fixed everything in. did not flash any bios for this and just used it straight out of the box.
turned it on and i get the same exact problem as the previous motherboard. my keyboard lights (caps, scroll, num lock) will all be instantly on once i turn on the com and stays lighted and no post.

so after all these i can only conclude that it is the CPU that is dead as thats the only thing left that I have not tested. i dont think if i bring to shop they will test anything different either after all this unless im missing something. they probably can test a alternative cpu for me then.

most likely will just get a 5700x3d as thats the best alternative already since its a new mobo too. and if this still doesnt work then really is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

MSI motherboards do take a longer time to post. I am using MSI board too and it post slower than my previous ASUS board. Something is weird for my current MSI board which is the bios flashback button does not work. The light flashes for a few seconds and then ends. I went into the bios and sure enough the bios wasn't updated from the flashback button. Lazy to rma the board just for that as I could update it from the bios. Not sure if it happens in your case too.
