To be honest, have been purchasing CPUs in batches and trays, still have not kana faulty CPUs since the Zen 2/3 from AMD. Not that it is not possible, but there is a much slimmer chance of striking that lottery.

Normally the trouble shoot outcome lead to mostly faulty PSU, memory and motherboard compatibility.​

was hoping the outcome would be either of those small things too but tested all the way it is what it is. luckily this am4 can probably still last quite awhile.

Extremely rare to see CPU degradation to this extent, that is pretty much what plaguing Intel now. Are you sure you not running it at 90c 24/7

actually its running 24/7 but didnt get to check the temps then again i dont think it would be running at 90c though got nothing that intensive running only just chrome browser tabs and background stuffs

I sold my previous AM3 CPU after 7 years and the buyer still said that it was working. Not say that it won't happen but it is rare to see a CPU failed. Watched several of Greg Salazar's troubleshooting videos, I think that only in one or two cases, the fault was the CPU.

People will say that there is no harm running it 24/7 but I prefer to shut it down when I am sleeping or away from home unless it is a computer used for CCTVs. I still think that running it 24/7 will degrade components faster due to heat. It only takes less than a minute to start the computer with today's SSD. Nothing much to lose shutting it down. If running it 24/7, it may be best to have the better cooling system for PC components and casing.

-reach end of lifespan (which is not possible for normal user)
-inadequate cooling via thermal paste, cooling fan, ambient temperature etc.
-overclocking
-mishandle/misuse

If not above, CPU is very unlikely to spoil, and always the last component we troubleshoot on.
Since TS diagnosed is CPU spoil, no point pondering the issue.

CPU can run 24/7... just ensure it work under low temperature.

it was running 24/7 on the ryzen 3600 stock cooler guess that 5 years of 24/7 on stock was its limit then.

You should at least get an aftermarket air cooler preferably with dual fans. It is quite cheap nowadays. You can even find cheaper ones like Jonsbo on Aliexpress and the performance is quite decent.

Computers in security homes also run 24/7 probably on stock cooler. I don't think that they even remove the pc cover to dust it. I think that failure rate should be quite high for those computers.

didnt think much since it was a 3600 just fix it in and forgot all about it. anyway now changed to the 5700x3d using a peerless assassin for it, idling at 48c with a game running in the background

intel? i never was a intel fan..... the price is for kumgong.
last time, 1 intel pc... i can build 2 amd pc.

so far, amd never fail on me....i still using FX, 1600
