Anyone ordered the Metal Band on at 299USD from Amazon? Did you all get charged GST? Its a bit borderline with the current exchange rates.

a better way to do it, is to buy the moto360 with leather band at 250usd.

Moto 360 leather band only costs USD$250. How is he/she going to be charged GST just for that one unit? That's not going to ever happen.

Yes, only if the declared value + freight + insurance for the import shipment is more than SGD$400, then you will be charged GST.

IMO, its not worth it to get the official metal band version (extra USD$50 over leather edition or extra USD$80 stand alone band only)

There are some reviews on the metal band already, although it could prevent the plastic back cover from cracking, the plastic adapters are also weak and could break.
The linkage from the band (wide) to the watch (narrow) isn't well designed; makes it look incomplete.

Rather spend less ~USD$20 to get third party metal/leather bands that looks better and will not crack the plastic back cover. Or get the excellent quality Super Engineer I/II metal bands which is of almost the same price of the OEM metal band.

Buy any mobile phone screen protector and cut a circle yourself.
I cut and paste mine from a $2 huge piece of Daiso screen protector.

Waiting for the tempered glass screen protector (from china) which I bought from ebay to ship over.

Nope, you need android wear and select facer as your watch face.

Then go facer and select the face you want to sync.

1. How do you view WhatsApp messages after the initial alert? Currently for me, once a msg comes in, the whatsapp pops up and i can actually view past messages from the thread. But how do you view whatsapp when there is no alert in?

2. How do you keep the screen on all the way?

Just long press on the watch screen, and you should see Facer as one of the watch faces. Select that, then the watch face you selected from the phone should appear on the watch.

1. You can't, if there aren't any notifications.
2. You can turn on Ambient screen mode (go to the phone's Android Wear App, then Settings, then tick the "Ambient screen" option). But this will still dim the screen slightly, after a few seconds. And beware that Ambient screen mode does eat quite an amount of battery. If you want to keep the screen at full brightness all the way, you'll need 3rd party apps (have to search Play Store) but I'm sure your battery will last no more than 4-5 hours.
