Anyone knows any airbnb that has view of mount fuji and can accomodate up to 6 person?

As far as I know, most AirBnBs are towards the south of Lake Kawaguchiko near the train station as the residential area is there.

I couldn't find any AirBnB around the nicer lakeshore areas as that area are all mainly hotels.

That was the exact place I stayed at during the Fuji cherry blossom festival!

They are the first place I've seen where guests had to book slots for bathing :s22:

How's the booking process for bathing? Were the timings alright?

I didn't book the meal option in this accommodation though, so would be arriving slightly later.

If I remember correctly, they have 4 baths (2 each for male/female) and you must book with the aunty the hourly bathing slot at the beginning of each day. I think there slots are from 7-11pm. There is no bathing in the morning.

Also if you stay multiple nights, you are not allowed in the hotel between 10am-2pm when they do their cleaning. Strange I know.

Like you, I also didn't book full meals. Dinner was more than 3000yen per head which I found to be expensive - but it looked good value as it was hotplate every night I was there. But do note that that area is a ghost town after dark so make sure you have dinner somewhere before returning to the hotel. I was lucky there were a few hawkers stalls at the cherry blossom festival during my stay to keep me alive.

I did book breakfast which was around 900yen.

Thanks for your reply!

Did you book breakfast together with the hotel booking or did you book when you are there? I hope they allow me to add on when I'm there. Can't seem to find any contact details to adjust my booking info.

I booked the place last minute when I was in Kyoto with the help of my AirBnB host to call them (hence was offered various meal options over the phone).

Their contact can be found on their website but I believe it will difficult over the phone unless you speak Japanese. Else you can try to cut-and-paste Google translated Japanese into their enquiry form and try.

This is what I feel ...

1. Depending on time of year, Mt Fuji can be hidden behind clouds half the time. So having more days may give you better chance to see the mountain. Staying overnight will also allow you to wake up early in the morning which usually has better chance to see mountain too.

2. There is this famous theme park Fuji Q Highland which IMHO is the best theme park in Asia (USS doesn't even come close ;) ) with the famous haunted house and a great concentration of rides (in fact 4 super coasters which broke several world records at their times).

If you decide to visit here, you'll need 1 full day taking into account the long queues for each super coaster. Also some of the main attractions (esp the Fujiyama) can be closed for the day due to strong winds/weather so you may have to wait another day to complete all the main rides.
