the fact is that corbell can't do much about this since its msi's problem. should have probably use intel's card.

althought is msi problem, as a distributor or wholesaler , they got their responsiblities to make sure their product really working well before selling.

If they realise got problem, they need to complain to msi. and stop selling wind till the problem solve.

This is call responsible wholesaler.

Like that they will have less complain and problem for them to solve. Good to them and good to us too.

Yes, of course I really DLJ for the constant disconnection dat I decided to get myself a "standby" wifi dongle, however, IMO, i think Corbell has been responsive to address our concern and I aware some of the staff also did some testing outside their office premises like we do.

I'm sure the Corbell guys would want to address and find solution to this problem, especially, more and more brands are coming up with their own version of UMPC and in sucha competitive enviroment, I also sure dat Corbell would not want to see their sales suffer becos of this glitch..

All We and Corbell can do now to see test a few more times, feedback the problem we facing and hope MSI can find a good solution to this.

WHo knows there might be a mass-recall if confirmed that hardware is the cause?

Well Corbell said they're already checking with the MSI engineers, and their style is to settle the issue before coming back with the answer, instead of providing updates along the way. The delay does get irritating sometimes, but things get done in the end.

For a start, MSI should stop using obscure Wifi cards - there's virtually no data on the 8187SE. Realtek has so many other Wifi cards to choose from.

So based on investigating, it's not the hardware issue or am l jumpin' to a conclusion too early? :p

The easiest way to fix a problem is to update the drivers first. If it doesn't work, then it's a hardware problem aka RMA time :).

Hi
Can anyone help me how to boot from my harddisk? I have installed Windows XP Prof and have downloaded the OS more than once due to windows not detecting my 2nd hard drive. Now I can't boot from my computer without having to insert the os cdrom. I have already configured my BIOS/CMOS etc to boot from my computer, but the problem still remain. Can anyone help me, please?

Is this related? :s11:

I don't think you've completed your XP installation. It's better if you remove your second HDD first and then install XP. Boot from the CD the first time to go through the Text setup, then on the second time boot from the HDD.

OK. a note to all. the boot.ini and the ntdlr (or somethign like that..) is in the D drive! don't try to format it or change that partition to a logical partition.

if you want to reinstall the OS be careful abt this. the best is you remove both c and d partition and do them again.

That doesn't make sense. The boot loader should be on the primary drive aka C:. Are you saying the Wind boots from D: but the files are stored on C:?

Yep, just copy the files over and then run the Setup.

Just wondering, did you guys run Windows Update? It should have an update for your wireless card. I have another Wind user who resolved his wireless problems after that.
