Good samaritan,

Thanks for replying.

Yes, it does stated. But our worries is whether marriott will play trick with us. We hope Marriott (being a world reputable brand name) will not.

If they can't refund, what options do we have?

Good Samaritan,
Thanks.
Yeah I tried contacting those people who shared the same stories but so far no reply from them. I think I will just send D8 a termination letter before the deadline.
Wondering if there is any template for this termination letter? Are there certain things that I need to include since it's going to be legally binding?
Thanks very much for your advise.

There is no standard Cancellation/Termination Letter.

I had spoken a CAD officer earlier today and he suggested to seek CASE for help.

Do take note of Shanice78's post (especially the para that is highlighted in blue) dated 29/6/2011:

Did any1 manage to cancel the membership for discovery8 without paying extra $$

I have pay 50% of the 25 year membership which about 9k.

I went CASE mid june to get them to help me to write a letter to discovery8 to get them cancel my membership without paying extra.

End up discovery8 call me last nite n told me i need to pay 30% of the balance amount before i can cancel my membership.

So i went CASE today again. The officer told me, CASE can only help me to nego to pay lower amount but they cant help me to get them to waive off the 30% which i suppose to pay.

Tat officer even advise me if i do not wish to pay to cancel the membership i just ignore their call n lawyer as discovery8 or timeshare will seldom send the lawyer letter or court summon to get the $$ as discovery8 need to pay alot more just to get the balance back.

I wish to know for those ppl who buy frm discovery8. did anyone of you manage to cancel the membership without paying?
Or even ignore them will do without any legal issue involved.

i m curious. for those who bought the timeshare, did you book hotel using this scheme?
is there real saving as compared to normal booking?

i did not sign up because i feel whatever 'discount' we get from any booking is merely coming from the 'membership' we pay, right?

If the company does not refund you accordingly, you may seek help from the Small Claims Tribunal <http://app.subcourts.gov.sg/sct/page.aspx?pageid=3953>.

No comment but I did not get much savings out of my Multiple Travel Club timeshare.

Since it is a scam, of course we don't get much discount from the booking than we book ourselves from places like agoda.com etc...

They merely subsidise from the huge amount that you pay for the membership. It is obviously a cheating ponzi scheme waiting to be exposed.

Hi every Timeshare victims,

There are few leftover companies that are still trying to scam our hard earned monies. I have been thru these companies in the pretext of them helping me to terminate my membership and they will asked for upfront fees etc. Please do not fall into their trap and just walk out from their offices. The resale companies mentioned are; J.C.G Credit Hse at Middle Rd, Concepts Club Services at POMO Selegie Rd, Landmark and Portfolio Investments at International Plaza, Global Securities, Concord Developements, Realty Access, Boston Ventures, AFTAG (these 4 co.s having same Directors) at OCBC Building Chulia St, Goodwill Ettikon Pte Ltd at Far East Shopping Ctr, Connection Tours & Travels at Orchard Towers. Pls beware guys!!!!! These scumbags will try squeeze till your last penny. If anyone receive any calls from the abovementioned companies, just hang up or tell them you will report the company to C.A.D or CASE and they won't be calling you anymore. Pls spread the word about these scammers........

Hi all, I want to terminate the contract with Discovery8.
But they told me that it cannot be cancelled.
Any suggestion will be welcome.

Can any one recommend a lawyer if I want to seek advice?
Thank you very much.

CVC

Would like to alert Concepts Vacation Club (CVC) Members to exercise caution when dealing with these 3 companies:

1. Concepts Club Services Pte Ltd @ POMO Building
  • claimed to be the authorised service centre for CVC, including collection of maintenance fees from CVC Members
  • company's logo looks like CVC
  • has old documents from the defunct LGM Singapore Branch

2. Connection Tours & Travel @ Orchard Towers
  • according to CVC's website, this company is the corporate office in Singapore
  • claimed to be servicing CVC Members too and said that Concepts Club Services Pte Ltd is related to CVC

3. Dynamikz Netwerkz @ Orchard Towers
  • Connection Tours & Travel uses this company's letterhead and rubber stamp in the documentation for a timeshare-related transaction

NOTE:

1. Concepts Club Services Pte Ltd and Connection Tours & Travel have a business relationship;

2. CVC Membership Services has however confirmed that CVC does not have any relationship with Concepts Club Services Pte Ltd;

3. To date, CVC Membership Services has not verified the information provided in CVC's website stating that Connection Tours & Travel is CVC's corporate office in Singapore.

We had been to Connection Tours & Travel at orchard road and they are the official servicing agents for CVC as they had assisted on our membership matters & issues and also on our travel bookings. I had confirmed with them and CVC, they have no relations with the so called Concepts Club Servicers and Connection Tours & Travel is also in the CVC official website as their agent in Singapore.

CONCEPTS CLUB SERVICES & CONNECTION TOURS AND TRAVEL

Dear all,

I have encountered with the people from these 2 companies. Almost get conned, but managed to get my deposit back. But before they hand me that refund cheque, they threatened to bill me the backlog of the CVC subscription fees "owed". I ignored them on that. I am thinking of going to CASE and the CAD to lodge a formal complaint next week.

After my experience with these 2 companies - Concept Club Service; Connection Tours and Travel, I think they are obviously run by the same group of scumbags.

First Concept Club Services' official address is at POMO, Selegie Road.
So I have been wondering, WHY DO THEY SET UP A "BRANCH OFFICE" AT ORCHARD TOWERS ????
And just beside Connection Tours and Travels ?
My theory is they use that as a "phantom branch" for them to conduct illegal activities such as pretending to represent CVC to scam CVC members when in actual fact, CVC has NO relationship with Concept Club Services.

I suspect that they do it so that if and when the Orchard Tower "branch" get into trouble with the law, they will just shut down that Orchard Towers "branch", so that their company, officially registered to be at POMO is not liable. They (the main company at POMO) can deny they ever have had any branch operating at Orchard Towers. They can claim that some other people is misusing their company brand without their knowledge. I may be wrong, but my guess is that they did not declare in the ROC that they have a branch at Orchard Towers.

On the activities they are conducting, promising returns to CVC members in "few months" time. Returns that sound too good to be true. They told me to put $10K with them for few months time (whatever is the purpose of this money is for), and get back as much as $40K in a few months time.

This is obviously a PYRAMID scam scheme that they are operating. Even if you are lucky enough to get paid by them, the money you are getting is just the money that they scammed from other CVC members. All the paper works on contract termination are probably just for show and fake. The so-called lawyer that they arranged you to meet is probably not a lisenced or still-practicing lawyer. Maybe he is not even a lawyer at all for all we know.

Its time for all CVC members and other timeshare members to make a stand and stop giving these scumbags any more of our hard earned money.
Its time to put them out of business.

Perhaps you may be ignorant, here are some of the facts again:

1. Connection Tours & Travel @ Orchard Towers is merely a travel agency. This company has an active business relationship with Concepts Club Services and told me that the latter is indeed related to CVC.

However upon checking, CVC claimed that "they do not have any relationship with Concepts Club Services nor endorse or believe Concepts Club Services can assist" CVC members.

2. Connection Tours & Travel @ Orchard Towers also offered their services to assist me to recover monies from my CVC's Cash Reward Scheme that had lapsed in 2010. I was taken aback when I saw the agreement. It was not what I had been told but rather a Purchase Agreement for Club Dynamikz; and this company was actually representing Dynamikz Netwerkz.

Upon checking, Concepts Programmes Admin Ltd confirmed with me that I cannot make any claim since my CVC's Cash Reward Scheme had lapsed. As such, I cancelled the agreement and had a tough time getting back my deposit. With Connection Tours & Travel being irresponsible and not helpful, I had to deal direct with Dynamikz Netwerkz. By the way, the overdue cheque for my refund was issued by Concepts Club Services.

3. I wrote to CVC again to complain about Connection Tours & Travel for misleading me (and perhaps many other CVC members too) that Concepts Club Services is related to CVC. However, I did not receive a reply but instead I found out that CVC has put up a notice in their website to advise members not to deal with Concepts Club Services.

4. By the way, Concepts Club Services is now also operating in the same premise as Connection Tours & Travel.

i have been to connection tours and travel and have check with member services cvc that connection is the authorised servicing agent for cvc and i have also been to i-generic which is a new entity of lgm and garraway trying to scam monies but im delighted with connection tours and travel services as they are the real cvc office in spore
