Nope. I transit at 延吉 for 珲春。
I didn't do much research on 延吉, and i am a budget traveller, prefer to experience the people and cultures.

There are just too many exciting places to visit in 吉林China.. 雾松岛，红松林 ... This is more of a familiar trip for me... how to book cheap guesthouse, take trains and coaches, food budgeting...

Travelling in China is cheaper and more exciting than in Vietnam...

长汀镇 - All buildings [schools, housing blocks, hospital ...] by the main roads are brightly illuminated with colored lights...

珲春 - All buildings by the main roads are brightly illuminated with colored lights too. It stretches many kilometers... 珲春 has wide boulevards too...

Beautiful temples in 珲春 and 绥芬河 ... Both temples 大光明寺 and 灵宝寺 are sited on hilltops and occupied very large plot of lands ... Images cannot unfold the grandeur of these temples.



绥芬河 - 大光明寺 安定。30 minutes very very chilling walk from my guest house.

珲春 - 灵宝寺。within walking distance from bus station.

My cheapo meals ....


a 9RMB 扬州炒饭 in 长汀。The portion is unbelievable hugh ....

b 12RMB 麻辣烫 in 长汀。500 grams for 12RMB... Yup they weigh your selections ... noodles, vegetables, mushrooms, white/black fungus, ham, luncheon .... and many many items. I can't believe I ate 500 grams for a meal ...

Nope I didn't buy any ginseng. I would not want to carry too many things with me. Maybe I would do a detour from 东宁 to 延吉. I am heading to 东宁 tomorrow, to visit the 东宁要塞。。。

I can't tell if a village was a north korean village ... whilst in this photo taken in 长汀, an old couple told me the village across the 海浪河 is a north korean village.... [the korean are moving out from the village though and in are the chinese ...]

Here's the most expensive meal I had ....

林蛙 in 长汀。


林蛙 in 长汀 are the most sought after in China. Got them [female] at 160RMB [500g] and [male 林蛙] at 25RMB [500G].

The 林蛙 were dumped into a 铁锅焞。。。

Why 林蛙 was so expensive ???? Was told to eat everything .. and spit out just the bones ....

主要产于中国东北的长白山区，是东北地区特有的蛙种，其雌蛙胎盘的干燥物称之为"雪哈油"，

Gorgeous!

One thing I dun like about chinese rice is they use the short grain type and can be quite oily.

Nice for porridge though
