Ok now you need to set up the NAS itself from the administration page. You need to set up fileshares. If you can access the admin page, you’re already in good shape.

That is if I am connecting directly to the desktop. If I connect to router. It cannot be detected

How to do that
You remote into your nas and check the network configuration. Make sure it is set to DHCP if it isn’t already.

Before that. You go your desktop PC when connected to your router. Make sure internet is accessible, then do an ipconfig /all and tell us your computer IP.

Your router maybe set to bridge mode which issues only 1 ip to one port on the router.

Did you set it on a static IP?

I specified the MAC address of my NAS to be tied to a specific address instead of DHCP.

My NAS is connected to my mesh satellite which is running on backhaul of 5ghz to my main router. My router is connected to a 16 port unmanaged switch, no issue to access my NAS from any device.

This gonna sound real stupid TS. is your PC also connected to the router (LAN side) at the same time as the NAS? I have to ask, because I have seen people not do this.

Also, answer ip question above. It is rather important. If your router is in bridge mode, it would explain a lot.

Actually maybe not. Because the problem started only after a NAS reboot.

1) Connect your NAS to a desktop PC via LAN
2) Check the IP address make sure it is valid.
Try access the IP address
https://networking.grok.lsu.edu/article.aspx?articleid=14842&printable=y
3) Set the static IP in your router
How to set depends on the mode of the router as different router
the setting is in different tab.

To me I think is more likely you never configure the NAS properly.
Especially setting a static IP if you have set one, it shouldn't disappear
when you switch it off.

Router should have a setting to specify a range of DHCP IPs to use and also which MAC address is tied to which.

I tied my printer, NAS, TVs to a specific range of IP and I set a DHCP range for the rest of adhoc devices.
