Pls inform the CSO.
I was told it's only 2015:s22:

Anyway , where can I check my date that they are able to come and fix it up for me if i upgrade to 300mbps plan now ?

If you are a new customer, there are able to install in march i believe, unless you are upgrading with running contract, your given date will be allocated depending on the length of your contract left. hope it help.

MR is not using NC equipment anymore. they are a opco now.
All current subscribers are moving phase by phase over too.
new customer will be under the new op co plan.

Grats for the launch. Hats off to MR's efforts to making me eat my words and prodding fibre broadband in SG to reach critical mass.

MR OpCo check
1Gbps plan check
HK like pricing check

Now do yourself a favour and make red and green feel disadvantaged if they don't peer with you :s13:

Next stop for future expansion may be up north (considering MR's plans for overseas markets), if you can endure all the red tapes. Very sure our neighbours in Iskandar Johor will jump ship at the first opportunity as their HSBB has stagnated for some time already.

Wah by then maybe new model out le :(

If you are going wired, new/old model dun matter... N56U and above will do.

If you are going wireless, it will be very hard to get close to 1gbps on wireless. Coz of factors like wall, distance, signal, etc...

If you like that say, at that point of ur installation, u wan get router, oso gt new models coming out soon after that. Are you gonna wait for infinity till you get ur fibre?

How about existing user who did not sign up for the upgrade? Will we be shifted?

Called the hotline to inquire about upgrading to the new 1Gbps plan base on my current contract.

The rep advised me not to upgrade now as it will involve terminating my current contract & that will incur penalty fees. :s11:

He explain that in Feb, MR will introduce a migration program to move existing user to the new 1Gbps.

So need to signup or not? I am confused.

MR rep can clarify

MR so cui, you guys still want to sign up ar?
see their international speed :o

not that I backing MR for the results...

but... do you really need that kind of overseas speed?
What kind of usage pattern will need that kind of bandwidth?
Even if you BT like mad also no need for that kind of bandwidth.

Furthermore, MR is choked by NC (or Starhub), since no matter how they route, it will still need to go through NC. I am assuming that NC has been screwing them all these while from all the previous tests that I have run.

Now that they become an OpCo, they are getting the lines directly from OpenNet, and they do their own peering and routing.
Lets see how it fair when the 1gbps becomes commercial.

And for that kind of price (1-2 years back), MR was the best deal.
Same goes for now... its the best deal in town for that kind of speed.

For many like me, it cheaper to switch to the new plan, than continue with current plan.
so even if its gonna be the same thing, I will still switch because its cheaper than now.

everyone will be slowly moved to the next plan over time starting from march. If you choose to upgrade/recon =).

upgrade fee of 58 applicable. But there's no penalty fee.

Unless, of course, you don't understand how speed tests work and that they're VERY dependent on the host server's bandwidth, I/O, CPU, and route to the host, which may change from time to time. It's trivial to find a US-based Speedtest server that can deliver < 1 mbps of "speed", regardless of which SG ISP one uses.

On the other hand, you may be a networking genius who consults for Ookla. What do I know. :)

The rest of the folks reading this, however, should understand that these tests are largely meaningless and easily "optimised" by the ISPs.
