Any bros signed up for this plan and is using it right now? Can do a test on the international bandwidth?

Also, is the static IP services free with this sign-up? I was looking through the first few pages, could not find anything pertaining to it.

The 1gbps plan only begins mid to late March. They're still preparing the network and setting it up for the new subscribers.

There will be a one-time charge of $50 for the Static IP.

Note: The Static IP will be transferred to the new ULTRA 1Gbps plan if you are an existing MR customer who already had the Static IP. Therefore, there will be no charges.

Modem/ONT is free rental. Return at end of contract or termination.
PM you.

i signed up with My Republic last year and under the 24 mth contract I would get 6 months free subscription. The 1st 3 months would accrued at the end of the year 1 and my 2nd 3 months accrued at the end of year two. I'm into my second month of my second year.

i was told that if i upgrade now, i have to forfeit my next installment of free months. which means that my original calculation of how much i have to pay based on 6 months free subscription is no longer valid and the actual cost of signing up for MyRepublic is actually higher than initially promised.

if i don't upgrade now, the fees when my contract ends could be much higher as threatened by the company. why can't they extend the current offer to all existing subscribers who want to upgrade at the end of their current contract?

i think it is very unfair that existing subscribers are penalised like that for being one of the earlier supporters of MyRepublic. doesn't seem like a good start for a new company in the scene. Looking to screw existing subscribers like the old telcos.

Hi we value every single one of our existing customer. i replied you on fb.

I have the exact same issue as hokokhua. I want to upgrade but I will lose my free months if I do. Would appreciate a PM with suggestions. Thanks.

I believe Lawrence has already replied that existing subscribers will still enjoy the subscription price of $49 or $59 for ULTRA 1Gbps or GAMER ULTRA Edition 1Gbps no matter when you opt in.

Hi all,

not sure if anyone remembers me, but am Lawrence Chan, I look after the product function of MyRepublic (i used to hang out here more before Nivlek and Johnnny joined the team)

Just want to give some heads up to customers see quite alot of posts (apologies I just woke up, we were trying to get the systems up over last night)

Just want to give my assurance that all customers will not have any issues getting this 49.99 or 59.99 price point. The limit on subscribers getting it is only for new subscribers. Current subscribers of course will not have any limits on this, be it you opt in today or 1 year from now, it will still be there for you.

haha am having the same problem, but i just signed up first... later if/when the CSO call to book installation date, i'll tell them to come after my contract has ended (dec 2014)... hopefully they would allow such "stunts" (but i trust MR customer service to be flexible enough right? :))

Hi.. I wanna sign up for the 1Gbps plan. Time to end my relationship with SlowHub. Can someone pls PM me? :):)

How bad is Starhub nowadays, can you elaborate?

Not sure about MR, but with current prices and so many eager to sign-up (activation dates are now scheduled for March!) won't this affect their speeds in any way?

First time checking in here. Too many pages.

1. So existing customers with contract can upgrade to this 1Gbps plan?

2. If so, what are the charges involved?

3. Then the contract expiry is 2 years from when the 1Gbps plan starts or existing contract expiry + 2 years?

Thanks.
