SP Powers is still the single point of failure.

UPS not enough lah, should get a generator to stand by. for the paranoid that worry lines may get sabotage, maybe a satellite internet access is required. :s22:

I'm an existing MyRepublic customer who is currently on the Pure package contract that is ending in June/July 2014. I've questions about contract renewal that I hope someone from MR can help to answer (no reply from support):

If I do not need a 1Gbps fiber connection, can I choose to stay with the current Pure plan? Is there any incentive for users like me to stay with MR, like a discounted monthly charge? What will be the monthly charge if I stay on Pure?

Thanks.

Repost: For the benefit of all the other folks who are in a similar situation (e.g. last minute cancellations, no-shows etc etc), I have created a simple guide as to the possible steps you can take as an irate customer.

(1) Call the MR 24/7 hotline at : 6436 6638
• Expect for calls to be unanswered due to heavy call traffic and insufficient MR manpower
• In March 2014, MR mentioned in the forums that they would be setting up 2 dedicated hotlines to deal with problems involving the 1gbps installation. Thus far, no news on these two hotlines
• Should you be lucky to get through, do record your call to avoid any miscommunication or misunderstandings in the future
• If nobody picks up, you can try your luck with their business sales hotline at: 6436 6618

(2) Email MR at myservice@myrepublic.com.sg
• Do remember to record down your ticket number etc

(3) Contact MR via their livechat on their webpage http://www.myrepublic.com.sg

(4) Contact MR management via email or personal visit to their office
• Malcolm Rodrigues: CEO & Co-founder
• KC Lai: Chief Commercial Officer & Co-Founder
• Greg Mittman: V.P. & Co-Founder
• Lawrence Chan: Head of Business Development and Product Management

(5) Contact Opennet directly to verify the cause of delay / cancelled appointment. Hotline number: 6563 4273 or email: info@opennet.com.sg , ask@opennet.com.sg

(6) Complain to Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (“IDA”) and Ministry of Communication and Information (“MCI”)
• Minister for Communications and Information, YAACOB Ibrahim ( yaacob_ibrahim@mci.gov.sg )
• Senior Minister of State, Lawrence WONG ( lawrence_wong@mci.gov.sg )
• Minister of State, Ms SIM Ann ( sim_ann@moe.gov.sg )
• Permanent Secretary of MCI, Aubeck KAM ( mci_aubeck_kam@mci.gov.sg )
• Executive Deputy Chairman of IDA, Steven Robert LEONARD ( steve_leonard@ida.gov.sg )
• Managing Director of IDA, Ms Jacqueline POH ( jacqueline_poh@ida.gov.sg )
• Senior Director (Next Generation Infrastructure), Philip Heah ( philip_heah@ida.gov.sg )

Tip: When dealing with MR, OpenNet, IDA or MCI, have everything documented in black and white. If any party is not willing to put down their correspondence in writing, you have every right to question the veracity of their representation.

Hi guys,

1. I must say I'm glad i'm able to meet some of you guys over the past few days. Listening to you guys about your 1Gbps experience and what we can do to further improve it.

2. We understand customer service is highly important. At MyRepublic we take that very seriously. We have buff up manpower across all channels of communication be it Facebook, Twitter, HardWareZone, Chat Room, Call Centre or via emails.

3.The past week installation has been rather smooth sailing (mostly because the March IT fair period is over and our upstream provider is slowly able to adept to our ever overwhelming request). Our call centre call in rate has dropped significantly, waiting time is being reduced. However, i know that isn't enough hence we have lengthen our online chat room operating hours to 10am to 11pm.

4. We will start 2 new hotline next week specially for customer with post installation issues such as slow speed or checking of installation schedule. This will greatly reduce the waiting time required.

5. A online Google form is being created in progress. Guiding customer on step by step troubleshooting and logging of errors and issues. For example, if customer is having a billing issue. They would only need to leave their details and problem in the google form / email. And we will get back to customer once it's resolved. This will automated the troubleshooting process and allow our team to check on the issues and get back to you instead of having to wait on the line while they try to do some check.

6. Mouse delivery is being sent on a daily basic. There's a limit our outsourced delivery team is capable of delivery per day. Thus, don't worry, if you sign up for a gamers plan. You will surely get a mouse =D.

7. Asus is doing some final testing for Asus AC68 and AC56. We believe that by dedicating resources for Asus to optimise the routers for our connection. Our customer will be able to enjoy the best possible experience.

8. There may be some issues with Hulu on teleport at the moment. Our engineering team are working overnight to resolve the issues. We expect the issue to be resolved within 12hours.

9. We are testing out some exciting new product. Looking forward to providing them for our customers in the near future to complement their 1Gbps awesome fibre experience.

10. You guys has been nothing short of awesomeness. Thanks for the support over the past few years and we look forward to a great future with you guys.

11. We are also beta testing some new application that will greatly benefit the fibre experience. For now, SHHHHHH. More details in the future

12. Last but not least, if you have any feedback. Kindly sent it to Solomon@MyRepublic.com.sg. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank You,
Solomon Teo.

Thanks for the reply, aCidz.

I found this MR re-contract page via Google: https://secure.myrepublic.com.sg/recontract/

Is this page still valid? In it, it says re-contract for 100Mbps PURE for 24 months is $38.88/mth, with 1 free month. This is different from the 300MB at $39.99/month you've mentioned. I'm confused. I don't need super high speed, 100Mbps is good enough for me.

Or do I have to die die upgrade to 1Gbps and pay $49.99/mth?

Why want to re-contract also so difficult? I email support in March, no reply. I send private message to MR staff via hardwarezone also no reply.

So disappointed with MR's customer service.

If I am not wrong, 300Mbps plan is only available to existing MR customers and not new sign ups.

Hi Solomon, why is it that I need to pay a OTC (one time charge of $78 or $58 depending on the plan) if I want to re-contract with MyRepublic, since I am already an existing customer?

If your contract finishing, OTC not applicable. If not need to pay.

I believe the OTC is applicable if you are still under contract. If u are out of contract, it will be waived.

I am in the same situation also. First attempt fail but original network still working. Today second attempt. Original network connection light blinking, new box also connection light blinking. Totally no internet service.

This is my 5th day without internet services. Not sure how long i need to continue to wait.......And nobody bother. I also want my order cancelled FOC...The service level is totally unacceptable.
