No idea yet.

Based on the technician, a really nice guy, who came down, he told me that backup of MR side haven't activate my port yet.

Then I ask him, opennet or MR? He said MR..soo....

Maybe he also not sure, I dunno.

Yours is Saturday?

Mine has been down since Wednesday and I told them I need my Internet for work...

@milo oh god, I really hope mine doesn't meet the same fate as you.

Seems like the only way is through the live chat where nobody seems to know how to solve anything other than saying that they will check and revert back to us. If opennet is having issues it seems that MR should settle this with them on behalf of all their customers.

Hi guys,

I just upgraded to 1gbps today. My router is Asus N15U. I noticed when I enabled port forwarding feature, the speed will drop drastically. If I turned it off, I will achieve downspeed of around 690mbps, upspeed of 470mbps. With port fowarding on, I will get downspeed of 90mbps, upspeed of 70mbps.

I have a NAS at home and I enable port forward to forward specific ports to that IP add.

Anyone got experience this before ?

Call them everyday for updates. But before that, make something nice to drink first, as need to wait very long for them to pick up the phone.

I set it on Saturday as I do not want to waste my leave.

Because they will tend to screw up something.

Just installed the 1gbps plan at around 4.30.Still waiting for it to stabilise supposedly. Wanna check if anyone knows roughly how long it takes? Trying to call myrepublic and using their live chat but no one is replying.

What do you mean by stablise?

Is this a good news?

CSO last time told me mid june
Msg them on facebook, he said got problem wait for the call
Now i check got billing issue. 5 month wavier only 2month free. (May&Apr)

Pure 100mb (so far so good)

@Lincoln92 try FB they just messaged me

pure100 free months is 2 month on 1st year + 3 month on 2nd year

To be exact, the 5 months wavier is last 2 months of 1st year and last 3 months on 2nd year.

I assumed you are already on Static IP.

No issue for me as I also enabled port forwarding on my router but not ASUS N15U router. Is your router on the latest firmware version?

with singnet now offering the 200mbps plan at $41.60 with unlimited local calls there is no good reason to choose MR. 500mbps plan at ~$59 i think.

Twitch today on MR is abysmal. low quality hardly moves. Singnet on the other hand is running source smooth.

Dont waste your time waiting for an appointment from MR. its 7 days guaranteed installation appointment from Singnet.

+ MR tech support is terrible. Singnet did fix my neighbours twitch after coming down 3 times & making some backend changes.

Yes. I got Static IP.

May I know what is your router ? Are you on 1gbps and if so, what is your down and up speed ?

I have not update my firmware version yet but will try that one out. Thanks.

@xRenol

that was the term the technician used, but it's the connection light that's still blinking. So I finally managed to call MR, and they tell me to wait till tomorrow because suppoedly there's problems patching of something. I'm totally disappointed by this because there was no warning of any sorts that this procedure might cause the customer to lose internet connection for such an extended period of time. From what the person tell me, I think it's the OpenNet side that's having problems and I guess there's no chance of getting back my internet tonight. Someone really needs to give OpenNet a good shitting because they have been utterly frustrating so far.

I am on 1Gbps using ASUS AC56U router. My download and upload speed are 730-900+Mbps/475Mbps.

Blinking ONT connection light can be due to OpenNet or MR side got issue. I also not too sure how to narrow down to find the root cause.

Hi bro.. We are on wireless connection.. Thx

Can you check your laptops' network adapters whether they are Gigabit Ethernet?

If possible, test with wired connection to ensure that the network adapters are able to receive around 700-900Mbps.

Yes. After I had updated my router firmware to latest version, it seems to does the trick ! Now I am able to achieve the same down & up speed as yours with port forwarding enabled. (I have yet to see 800+ though)

I am thinking of getting a switch to share the connection with my wife PC as she is on wireless. I was wondering whether the speed would be further reduced ?

Good to hear that it works after updated the router firmware version.

Get a switch for wired connection to your wife PC?

Hi, I managed to get my connection working. However I'm now reading that the Asus RT N15U is not supporting up to 1gbps. I would like to check if this is true, and if so, what alternatives can I get ?

RT-N15 can work with the 1Gbps plan but it will not be able provide the performance that someone who wants to utilize the "full speed" of the 1Gbps needs. I think this model can at max do about 300-400mbps.
