I'm at Hougang area. Really hope I'm one of the beta testers as I'm now paying $45++ for my SNBB 10mbps as my contract is over. If not I might just consider other ISPs.

the good things in life is always come with loads of patience...

Quoted from someone in MR...
You don't get your baby overnight, you need to wait 9 mths....
But with MR...at least it's not that long....compared to **.

March is just round the corner mah..so be a little patient...will be worth the wait

Why will you all need to access China Website?
Family need to do voting, every single day. Apart from that, got access to weibo, etc...

What is so Important of whether your Ip being Dynamic or static?

I can't do multiple voting with static ip. Hence i need to access that website through dynamic ip.

You just can get a VPN and every works in wonders.. Don't tell me you guy do not know?
Some website like in the Singapore is disable such as Youtube (Certain Videos)
so just use VPN which is a USA IP- POOF. Done. and you are in.

Not familiar with VPN but do you mean i can change VPN's proxy many times?
Cause this is how i do multiple voting:

1) Activate firefox stealthy
2) Vote & answer question
3) If answer is correct & vote goes through;
4) I need to clear the cache;
5) Then I 1st need to deactivate then reactivate firefox stealthy again
6) **Repeat step 2 & continue*** hundreds of times

We use to average about 100 votes per day last year but lesser now as access through dynamic ip is well ...........i guess i no need to say.

So if VPN able to fit my requirements, & few dollars i don't mind.

So UltraSonicEX or anyone, will VPN work for my requirement?

for the new 300Mbps plan, would it require a new ONT? i.e. have to schedule an installation appointment

For the new 300 Mbps plan, it will be using the new ONT. Therefore, an installation appointment is required.

thanks, so i guess there will be a beta list for those going for the 300Mbps as well?

wonder why no info on this 300Mbps plan on the myrepublic website. Is it offered at IT show today?

does anyone know if myrepublic allows freedom to switch between plans during contract? isit upgrade & downgrade friendly or possibly only upgrade possible?

Normally, it will be possible to upgrade and as for downgrade there might be a fees. It is up to the management.

i'm currently on SH fibre bb, the FTP and ONT has been installed and i am using their dlink modem-router. just that instead of the modem being right beside the ONT, it is in another room connected by a cat 6 cable.

will there be any issue and what do i need to change?

If you are switching to M, there will be no issue as the ONT and Router can be separated like what i am doing now.

FTP and ONT in the living room, Router in my room using a cat 5e.

I believed that this has been answered many times before in the thread and I want to set the record straight. For the record, I'm an end user of MyRepublic and in no way working for them.

Torrenting depends on a number of factors, including but not limited to, the number of peers (seeders and leechers), the visibility of you to other peers, the average completion of the other peers, the settings in your torrent program, etc. Speeds in torrents also don't always shoot up immediately, it takes time, just like driving.

For non-active torrents, I had speeds from few hundred KB/s to 1-2MB/s. For active torrents, I had speeds of up to 14+MB/s on a single torrent and also on a group of torrents. I still have the same speeds when I do torrenting recently. By the way, I'm on wired purely for the purpose of torrenting.

I have no idea whether you're on wired or wireless. I don't know what kind of settings you're using on your torrent program. I don't know whether the torrent is active, many peers or the average completion of your peers. But please, before you start talking about the slow torrenting speed, could you perhaps give more details first?

I have been using torrent for many years so I know how the system works. I am on direct wired connection and I did not changed any settings. Previously I can download at up to 7MB but now it won't even go above 1MB. Confirm many seeds available and not limited to just one tracker.

Another issue is my connection will disconnect (connection loss then reconnected back) once in a while which is an issue when I am using HTTP download which cause it to fail.

did you change torrent client version recently? i experienced something similar with some of the newer versions.

try direct to ONT to rule out router failing as well, which although rare, may happen sometimes

my torrent speeds are still normal.

if all else fails, pm nivleK1985, but i believe it will take sometime for him to reply now that IT show is underway

I don't use the supplied router since I only have a computer at home so my connection is directly connected to the ONT. I did not change my torrent version, still using the same version.

this may be really stupid, but could it be the cable problem on the disconnection?

Honestly speaking, never had disconnection issues until recently when the Static IP went hay wire for a morning, and also when they did maintenance.

My loose cable on my study table sometimes has issues with connection. move it bait and the laptop will get connected again.

Maybe you want to check that out too.

I have checked the network cable, it's in working order. I am not implying this is the case but it seem when ever I am downloading (torrent or http) something, this disconnection will come up. Normal surfing like never encountered this issue.
