Hi all,

MR recently e-mail me stating that I am able to do a recontract however when I tried to click on the link and sign in I was not able.... trying to contact their staff after waiting for 30mins on the phone and going through countless disconnection from online chat they say will check with their engineer about my account and will get back to me than wait for another 3 days they did not return my call and I had to call them and going through the same process again this time they return my call mentioning that I am able to recontract and ask me if I want a new router to go along and which phone I would like. After all the fuss they callled me again saying I cannot recontract due to I just 1 year pass my contract and if i need to recontract I need to pay back the free 3 mnth sub bills(which they gave me 3x$75) in order to recontract. Seriously MR is playing tricks with me I told the staff if u cannot make a right decision called your manager to call me than after that been pass 1 week and did not manage to received a single call. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANY 1 TO MR AS THIS IS ******** SERVICE THAT I GOT FROM THEM. Below is the screen capture of the email this how they treat existing customer now(Customer ID: C1012756)
BS1.jpg

Their website have issue to click on the contract (pure300), sometimes this package wasn't shown and i have to refresh n refresh. lousy web design for a internet ISP.

Best when i manage to recontract, my installation was postponed twiced......like i am very free. why openet need to come and check? no idea.

most bloody CCB is 2nd time postponed guess what, the openet ppl din come as per appointment. call them n they say oh they dun have enuff manpower to handle and have to postpone indefinately.

My contracted ended in mid sept, i recontracted in mid aug. after the 2nd postpone, i never get a phone call since the last call in Aug. 2 mnth liao, not going to wait anymore.

How is it possible they can serve new sign up yet ignore us the pioneer supportor, subscriber?? Openet still have the cheek to have a booth at MR at the comex.

So now to recontract we need to terminate and apply as new subscrible in order to have an 'SUCCESSFUL' appointment with openet?

I decided not to support MR anymore. what is the point? MR, head not so big, dun wear such a big hat.

will be termianting with them very soon.

I have the same dilemma as you now. Contract ending soon and contemplating whether to recontract with them. It seems their 300Mb/1Gb connection are not stable at all. Thinking of signing up with VQ but the hassle of transitioning over to another ISP might cause too much troubles.

dun bother, U cant even get an appointment with openet how to upgrade. time to change ISP. paying $59 for 2yr old plan when ppl are using better speed.

It could be that MR couldn't get NC to release port 1 on time, so they wanna get u on Port 2 for the upgrade. Hence need opennet to come and do some work to get port 2 up and running.

if this is true in your case then no matter which one u go its same, port 1 locked up by NC and port 2 need opennet to come and do some work, which they told u its indefinitely.

my suggestion: wait for opennet to come and complete the works first before you terminate anything.

Totally disappointed with myrepublic service.
Signed up recontract for 1G plan on 31Aug, they cancelled my previous appointment for installation last minute on the day before. Till now they dun bother to call me to fix a date. After calling them, they can only reply "please wait for our order team call u"....
Please Consider before recontract or signing up with them.

what is NC? well terminating free up the port doesn't it?
and how come openet can fix up new subcriber? This doesnt make sense. Do i need to be a new subscriber to get the things done?

NC is Nucleus Connect.

If I am not wrong, you need to sign up with an ISP/RSP before OpenNet can connect to Port 1 or Port 2 of Termination Point (TP).

well then let's hope i choose a ISP that listen back and not stay mute.......I think I would pay $6 for VQ for 300Mbps then stuck with 100 for $59

Since Saturday I have also been having this issue, I am unable load hardwarezone forum page, Amazon (I get reduced bandwidth page), IMDB.com and facebook I could not reach the support staff via the hotline so I log a case #49263 via the website but no reply yet.....

I realised one thing. Please do this check.

I know that YouTube is like a partnered site for MR.

So when you have surfing or connecting issues which causes you to get errors and finally getting it after multiple refreshes......

Please try to surf YouTube website. You will actually realise that it's still pretty fast, plus the video will load super fast on 1080p.

Then you go to MR speedtest site and you will realise that you'll be able to get a pretty good bandwidth still.

Only then you will realise that it is actually due to MR stupid throttling that is causing such problems. Can't believe that being on 1Gbps still have throttling!!!!! ($49.90 plan)

**Any MR subscribers on 1Gbps Gamer plan? Please highlight if you have surfing issues at night or not. My guess is that once it's like past 10pm, the throttling kicks in and in theory gives the gamer plans more priority

Basically to upgrade to the 1Gbps connection is akin to terminating from NC hence need to free up the port for MR (here as OpCo).

Assuming if NC is unable to release the port in time, New subscriber could be someone who is on Singtel or M1, and they are able to release it for that subscriber to get on MR.

So if they have a problem in getting NC to release, any other OpCo will have same problem as well, unless 1)MR didn't do its job to chase NC or 2)unfair preferential treatment

Then the new RSP u sign up with will have to tell Opennet ready the fiber for 2nd port, in which Openent told u that they are unable to perform the work and hence you won't be able to get on the new RSP either.

And yes by staying mute MR is not helping u either.

Ooops I think i accidentally spammed MR Facebook page lol (See Quote below)

Oooooo wonderful 1Gpbs!!!! Had mine upgraded for a couple of months already.

Love it in the day time.

BUT NIGHT TIME SUXXXXXXXXX

I think MyRepublic wants me to sleep at 10pm every night. Cos after 10pm I cannot have smooth surfing. Gotta do multiple refreshes. But guess what every other site I go to has this issue when it comes to night time.

Only surfing Youtube site has no such issue. Even 1080p video loads great.

But HECK! I cannot update my website, cannot do Internet Banking blah blah it's like 10pm and ALL sites are given the worse bandwidth.

What kind of throttling is this for a 1Gbps plan!!!

MyRepublic staff if you are reading this. Find out what's wrong!!!!! I have realised that on forums, many people are having the same issue as me.

If you need more clarification, find me!

Not a good idea to post your NRIC and phone number in public. At most should just give them your customer ID.

And its not throttling. It doesnt make sense to throttle web browsing and leave the bandwidth hungrier stuff like youtube streaming alone.

Probably some error in their network which u need to contact them ASAP to fix.

Got to use mobile data at home!
Now they simply ignore in c.service!
Only support gets is when new sign up request and those partners help answer!

That depends... my office area suffered a mobile signal blackout yesterday. No Data, No Voice, No SMS aka no service Signal. Took them half a day to resolve.

Even when the equipment has no problems, I will still run into blind spots in coverage and more importantly, its not any faster than a landed data link and has a higher latency as well even when comparing against 4G.

I have a theory. It might be that the flat you are staying in have too many people using MR, thus causing the bandwidth choke. Since fibre is using shared bandwidth, when more people are using the same ISP from the same location, quality will go down.
Why not give traffic light ISPs a chance instead since purple line is going ****.

Rather give VQ a chance before heading back to traffic lights..
