For myrepublic users, how is the managed unlimited data (after using up the plan) for watching YouTube? Is it still acceptable?

384kbps video watching the most is around 240p with H264 codec or 360p with WebM (VP8/VP9) codec.

If you want faster throttle speed, go for Zero1 6u plan.

I didn't try vivifi before.

Using bandwidth throttle simulation on web browser, the most you can try 144p video.

If you want to watch video at throttle speed, Zero1 is still the best bet.

Zero1 is on Singtel Network.

My 6u plan throttle around 1Mbit/s. Last tried after using 16GB it still throttle at 1Mbit/s.
Zero1 may have updated the throttling policy.

I haven't try the throttle speed after using 30GB on Zero1 6u plan. I'm not sure what is the new upper limit before it may throttle to even lower speed (From 1Mbit/s to maybe 512kbps?).

Last time when the plan is 1GB < Unlimited, it throttle to 512kbps after 5GB.

How does Zero1 subscription works? There’s a clause i read it state “The free 3 months subscription will be applied on subcriber's 1st to 3rd bills. Prevailing monthly subscription fee of $9.90 will apply thereafter. A one-time registration fee of $10.70 applies.”

So means only 3 month $9.90 or first 3 month is $13.90? Then forever $9.90? So confusing :s22:

My understanding is first 3 months $0, then $9.90 after. I don't think they will charge $13.90? Seems like permanently discounted to $9.90.

If really permanently discount $9.90, I want to port in my number from giga to Zero1.

More talk time and Singtel Network.

Meaning $10 for 6gb + 8gb of data per month?

8gb 1 time boost only. Valid for 8 months and this free data will be used first. Only good for first month.

Sent from 大帅哥 using GAGT

Ic. Then not very useful this boost. End up first month this will be utilised then the original free bundled end up wasted. as good as no boost.

For MyRepublic, if A sign up a new plan with new no, later can port a number from B (not under A’s NRIC) to replace the A’s no rite?

Just need to fill up a form? With B’s IC or something?

Probably Full Mobile Number Portability form. Do note that transfer of ownership on MR is not allowed, you must port out then back in if want that number.

Need both A and B NRIC also. I would say if you're scared, do at MR Shops instead.
