Don't think many people are looking for the PERFECT Telco or plan, just wanted decent connectivity is not too much to ask for.

I can live with 1-2Mbps download speed on TPG as a free trial user but paying $20-30 monthly to only be frustrated with no connectivity? Don't think so right?

But I do see some here hard selling M1 & its associated MNO as apparently the best network in Singapore just as some history kept selling Stamford Raffles founded Singapore... :(

Haha we all can see who hard sell certain telco. I personally like MR, Giga, Gomo, Grid, StarHub and M1 depending on which area is good for you and your needs.

I would think opposite. One should only "hardsell" the telcos that they are not using as the lesser the users are in the saem telco as them, the more bandwidth and better latency he will enjoy. :D

with the advanced of information, i do not see a reason one can be "hard sold" with things easily just by the words from others. anyone can easily sign up a new no contract line to test things out by himself to decide as less one is not even bother to spend that initial one month or two month fee which is as low as $10 to try.

Same sentiments. Not that I want myself to have better bandwidth or latency, it is to share what is best fits. We can together save more money, best value for money rather than paying for something you do not need.

When u start playing games, u start to know how bad m1 "hang" more than starhub and singtel while on the train.

Anyway, u was with Giga or MyRepublic uno that why you feel that StarHub network was bad. M1 (current myrepublic) is much better since they had VOLTE. This is due to the MVNO without VOLTE take a few seconds to get connected with voice call and the call quality is bad. You are not COMPARING APPLE TO APPLE!!!

Speed-wise on m1 is great, coverage is ok. Just that there is more blind spot while travelling and it is not as suitable for gaming. If you are a normal user just go head with the 3 telco but not TPG since they are only have 2 bands.

Why is there a case about M1 having network issues recently? You kept saying you do not know why? Have you ever read it up since it pretty recent? Went out to do a testing with the 4 operators with a solid prove that m1 outperform Starhub? It's not always the speed but the coverage. Let's not talk about downtime since SINGTEL perform worst.

From what you are doing, seem like you are M1 spokesman.

If starhub works best for you, then good for you. For me, the only issues with Starhub is coverage and phantom of missing calls, high latency which is not seen on my M1.

I do not have issues with M1 coverage and speed. Don't assume I have issues with it or everyone have because you have issues. I did not discourage people to sign up with other telcos though, but you see it as I promote people to get m1.

I agree with your phantom missing calls on StarHub partly because of their switching. (With VOLTE should be a better choice)

High latency don't mean connection lost. M1 connection on the move is much worst than Starhub, only noticeable when u playing games. M1 does have network failure when network is congested, should be solved by now, let's see after the ** and phase 1 period.

Apart, without VOLTE, the network is much slower. This happens because the phone drops to 3G from 4G when a call is placed hence the speeds fall corresponding. VOLTE was put in place to keep the phone on 4G throughout the call. If someone were to make a call to your number, your phone will drop you into 3G mode before the call can put thru, hence sometimes you will get unsuccessful call more often.

Hence I give a thumb up for VOLTE. When Starhub give VOLTE to their mvno, UNO plan will actually benefit a lot more with their much stable network.

My take is to keep the uno plan + lite plan. If you kept both + 1 TPG line, you will have 3 telco at $28.

Just tried the MyRepublic talk, voice quality is really good.

However, there is one serious qns I want to ask, is there a way to log out from the account that I have logged in? Seems like no way to log out to another account like the normal MyRepublic app.

There is a "reset application" after clicking the 3 dots on the top right hand corner.

If it does not work, go to your phone app settings, clear data and cache

Thanks bro. Reset application works.

Besides, my two accounts are merged under one email login. Nice. Only takes less than half a working day to get it done.

Submitted the port-in request from my TPG number to replace my MyRepublic Lite number over the weekend.

Today 26 May 2020
16:16
Your number port request will be processed by your previous service provider on 26 May 20. You will be notified via SMS upon approval or rejection.

16:19
Your request is approved and your number will be ported into MR tonight. There will be service disruption of up to 3 hours from 11pm during the porting process.

Very fast the porting process. Only took one working day to be done.

Besides, i tried to login the same MyRepublic Lite number to the MyRepublic Talk app and surprisingly it worked.

Now I am curious if someone called me whether the both the MyRepublic Talk apps on different physical phones will ring at the same time.

Besides, just to confirm, I can actually use the app to call local number rite? However, it will charge 5 cents per min for local calls and not deducted from my free talktime rite?

Yup, using the app to call local number will be charged separately. 1 cent per min. I tried it 2 months back, 2 mins and I was charged 2 cents

Yup hopefully.

becos the port in time can be anytime from 11pm to 2am.

Let u know what exact time my TPG line get terminated. I am still using it on my MiFi device with my macbook now still. A bit sad to say sorry to the 2G + 1Mbps unlimited data that I had been using for so long.

Actually I can wait until the closer date to port like thurs or friday to port. However, just worry I missed the working days to process then I may ended up losing the TPG number. haha.

1 cent per min for local calls, that’s very cheap man. meaning even exceed the 300 mins, making extra calls using the app will be super cheap too.

ic. cool.

however, actually it is a bit strange, becos on their website they stated calls to lion city is 5 cents per min. How come urs is 1 cent per min?

from what i understood, you do not need the SIM card to be active or online in order to use the myrepublic talk app rite? which means i can actually use the MyRepublic Talk app on an iPhone/iPad while the physical SIM card kept inside the cupboard and never be online?

Then it comes back to the question why it is 1 cent and not 5 cents because by rite they should not be able to differentiate whether you are roaming or not to have seperate charges.

or the 1 cent is becos you still have free talktime and they deduct from there and again charge 1 cent per min. until you finished the free talktime, then they charge 5 cents per min??

besides, you still have the UNO 8 plan? nice.

Don't know why 1 cents. Anything from the app, will be reflected separately from the bill hence that is why you don't see it in the bundled talktime.

The picture you post above to 5cents for calls to Singapore from overseas

I can't even finish the bundled talktime they given me. Yes I'm still on Uno 8 plan with 1000mins 1000sms; starhub network though
