The way I understood it is, the incoming calls to SIM will land on the app which may be on another device.

Does that mean the app restricts the the SIM being identified by two different devices? If I have two other devices other the phone, can I have the both the devices use the one SIM #?

to setup MR talk, you need to have the OTP that will be sent to the mobile phone with the physical sim card in. but you can do it on any other devices including ipad etc.

There is no limit how many devices you can have the MR talk setup as long as you can key in the OTP during the setup.

I had tried previously to setup MR talk on two devices with the same MR mobile number with no issue. Can make IDD calls on MR talk app from either of the devices with no issues.

However, i have not tried to do the call forwarding on the MR number to see if someone calls the number, will MR talk apps on both the devices receive the calls because the MR line is not main number as of now it is still a data line. So I just used the MR talk app to make cheaper IDD calls to overseas.

cool. that's good.

so the MR talk app an alternative to use devices such as tablet like iPad to make outgoing calls (if you dun mind the pay per use charge) and receive incoming calls (for free by deducting from bundled talktime).

Interesting. So it allows you to answer incoming calls through any device. If you answer it through SIM, then is free incoming call, but you use the MR app, it will deduct from your outgoing minutes.

So how does the app identify the country in which the call was picked up when the phone is switched off?

The app is good indicator how the IDD market will be totally dead in another few years. Your physical phone in office will disappear and will be on your computer or mobile phone only as app. You can pick up your home phone through your mobile or you may not even need it. Similar to unlimited incoming calls, outgoing calls will also be free. Companies may not not have toll free nos and telcos meagre income from that will also disappear. Haha.

Do MR extend any offers if demanded? Recently argued with CL and got 3 months unlimited calls and $20 off by quoting $10 plans around.

But I was demanding them to give me 10GB, 500 minutes outgoing, unlimited incoming, 25 sms, free callerid - all for $10. Since they did not move more than a month since, I told them I am jumping ship.

CL is again offering me $10 off for next three months to retain my $18 CIS line. :D

I rather move to MR lite now and use their better outgoing minutes and MR Talk app for overseas call.

there is no need for the app to identify where you physical sim is. as long as the calls are forwarded to the app, one just answer as incoming calls. physical location makes no difference to the app, as it uses Internet connection and thru VoIP.

My company already not issuing physical phone to new employees. All to use Teams for phone communications. But work life balance is at stake. Also, no phone line subsidies.

Early adaptors.

My company currently moving away from Cisco WebEx to data only MS Teams for meetings. My earlier client was planning to junk all the CISCO desktop phones and move to Skype for Business.

It will only accelerate.

We have to learn to separate personal time from office time.

about to let go my legacy uno plan and upgrade to lite plan soon.

just curious, if anyone here tried porting in to vivifi and out to MR lite successfully? (pay lesser at $8.80 as compared to $10 giga)

understand giga's plan has a $2 delivery fee, but i'm looking at the postal mail collection for vivifi, doesnt seems to have any extra fees.

haha, just thinking if can save on these extra costs.

thanks!

It's not very clear if Vivifi Lite qualifies for the $12 delivery waiver.

Finally done with my giga data. Time to cancel. Waste of time by porting from tpg and end up cannot receive otp. Emailed them but CSO ask me to check with respective vendors cause they can't detect any request for otp on my line. Absolute disaster

Time to fully utilize my MR lite plan

Hi guys, just received my new giga sim card, today is 20th of the month. If I wanted billing cycle to be on 1st of the month, can I delay activation to 1st July? So billing cycle will start 1st?

Anyone has experience in this?

Yes correct. Billing cycle starts base on the activation. Just activated one of my giga! number this morning. the data is to be renewed on 20 Jul 2020.

Bro, you are to continue to use this number on giga? if not why the billing cycle matters?

Oh no. Sorry wrong thread. Hahah, I'm intending to change my primary number to giga new number. Come nov when my contract ends with M1, will fully change over to new giga number, would probably port somewhere else by then.
