I have ported my number from Zero 1 to MR more in April. Since then I have on-off problem receiving OTP for online payment. There were instances where I tried using 3 different credit card and requesting for OTP more than 8 times before only 1 OTP finally got through for me to make my payment. I have checked with MR CSO and their last advise to me was to inform the respective bank that MR is using M1 router for OTP whenever I have issues with receiving OTP which clearly is not the solution when we are overseas. Until now I'm still waiting for MR to iron out this problem or I may have to look for another telco soon.

I would like to hear if anyone face similar problem as mine?

is your zero1 number originally started from zero1 or ported from other operators ?

i wonder what is so special about otp sms compared to regular sms ? different routing ? to any sender, it is just a mobile number. when anyone sends a regular sms, who cares about the operator or router ?

for those of you who cannot find the monthly recurring booster in the myrepublic app. can find it under web portal. obviously the app is having a bug, sometimes it shows, sometimes it does not.

Managed to get my mr line to be terminated by 29th. Good that they can do planned termination, instead of immediate.

This number has been ported a few time. Before zero 1, the number is from Starhub. You have posted a good question about OTP vs normal sms. Since OTP security is more important than normal sms, may be it will pass through some extra encryption before reaching me.

Can anyone share some light

i found this process overview of number porting from the imda website :

Full Mobile Number Portability is a solution that allows consumers to keep one mobile number for life, even when they switch operators. It works via a central database system in a multi-operator environment, in which all ported mobile subscribers’ numbers and routing information are kept. When a call/SMS/MMS is made to a ported mobile subscriber under the solution, the caller’s mobile operator will check against the central database information and route the call/SMS/MMS directly to the ported subscriber’s new operator.

basically 3 steps :
1. sending/calling operator to check central database
2. central database maintained by a central clearinghouse
3. sending/calling operator to route to the receiver number's operator

if the above is true, looks like your problem has nothing to do with MR ? it is the OTP service provider's telco operator's job to do all the work.

looks like these processes are vulnerable and not robust at all, what happened to all the handshaking protocols between operators ? by the way, i am just a layman. haha.

If sign up on 28th of the month. Billing cycle will start on 1st also rite?

Yes, that is what I learnt by following this thread for some time and chatting with CSO. Based on this I requested the delivery of SIM on 29th Jun and porting from CL $18 to MR Lite $10.

wah, sign so many lines? You also ported the TPG to MyRepublic and terminate end of the month like me right?

Yes the previous TPG ported one and one more initial sign up one all terminated already. Only have one active MR lite line that is used by my cousin which ported the number from Singtel.

Now I need to sign up two more MR lite lines to keep. Haha.

Lucky u reminded this. Then I have to wait until Monday or Tuesday to sign one line to port in one of my giga number. Have to sign by this month becos I dun want to pay for giga another month.

Then the other one line I will choose to sign online and select the delivery date to be on 30 of July or 1 of aug (funny that they do not have slot for 31 july). Since my the other giga line only arrive on Monday I can delay the activation until July so no need to pay one more month of subscription.

signup online might not get the date 29 to 1 delivery date.

apply both line when you go down immediately to have both 1st billing date

no need.

i just need 1 aug delivery.
becos my myrepublc account will be 1 aug once the sim card delivered. the account is activated immediately.

port in successfully or not does not affect myrepublic account. my giga account the billing cycle is after 1st aug. more than enough time to port in without incurring extra month of charge at giga.

just submitted the order online. scared no more slot later for 1 Aug.

one sim card will be delivered on Sat, 1 Aug 10AM-1PM. haha.
did not have my giga number ready to be filled in for MNP yet. so will submit an MNP request later after the account is created on 1 Aug. haha.

31 July totally has no slot. not sure if it is all take up or what. haha.
