The 3gb variant will do. Especially when u said u not into hc gaming so an entry level card will do.

Since u do AutoCAD, it's better u grab a i7. But I seriously doubt whether u will do overclocking. Consider changing your mobo to non z and cpu to non k.

Also, there's a good deal on qoo10 now. Asus gamer shop selling 3tb hdd for 119 (excluding coupons).

Then simple. Change your cpu to i7-6700, mobo can be anything from a b150 to a h170. I think a b150 will suit your needs though. Since u are not going to oc, u can drop the cpu cooler.

Get a couple of value ram since non z mobos cap ram speeds @ 2133mhz.

And do u need wifi?

If not going to OC, downgrade to your CPU to Intel i7 6700 (NON K) and change your motherboard to a chipset with H110 or B150. Then change your ram to any ValueRam to 2133Mhz as any motherboard with chipset below Z170 only supports DDR4 ram on 2133Mhz. Save some cash here.

Do you need the sound card? Else can use onboard sound will do. Save some cash here.

Mind telling us what kind of games you playing? What monitor are you using? Monitor Resolution and Refresh rate? (1080p 60hz? GTX1060 6GB is a good choice and it is a main stream card that sits between the high end and entry level cards, but still overkill if you solely only focus on MOBA games like DOTA, Heros of the Storm.

I'm not too familiar with AutoCad requirements (does it use HyperThreading?) , hence I maintain to keep the i7 6700 for now.

I would argue that it is worth to get the 6700k even if he is not overclocking as the sheer clock speed difference is going to make a big difference in autocad for just 50 dollars more

Have to disagree. The problem with building new pcs is getting stuff that u don't need. And I don't see him needing that extra mhz for his work.

Sorry but that is wrong. Autocad benefit immensely from high clock speed. In fact most of autocad is still single threaded so high clock count is very important. Youre talking about an 18% increase from 6700 to 6700k which is very significant

Since he has zero of overclocking its possible to buy a stock box cooler for 5-10 dollars. Ive done it before while waiting for my aio to arrive and it runs perfectly fine.

Yes but that is no need to use such a good cpu cooler if youre not overclocking. An entry level one is more than sufficient

Nobody said it won't work. It's just whether he needs it. End of the day it's up to him. Additional cost over that increased performance.

We may disagree on certain aspects but that's because I rather advise people to get the most basic stuff, then add on if he feels comfortable or wanted that extra oomph.

To be honest with you, a core i5 6500/6600 is more than enough for your autocad usage. I really do not see a need of 6700 or a 6700K. Why? The reason why you need so many threads is because beside running autocad, you will be assume of running other software side by side. But still, for your usage, i will just go for a 6600 setup with a 1070 and 16GB memory.
