Someone posted before, anyways these are just people guessing what remains 🧐

looking at the pics of the border station, might have chance of survivors. Looks like there is some building buried beneath that slit and mud.

Buildings are not designed to withstand such lateral forces from one side one. But the lower levels might have pockets of survivors, since the flow is not all liquid, and the mud may dam up preventing further flooding inside.

START DIGGING.
I think the buildings all got erased by the mudflow. See how the multiple storey carpark instantly burst and collapsed when hit by the mudflow. The mudflow was not just water and mud, had countless gravels, numerous huge boulders. See the france news video showed how the mudflow travelled very far downstream still had energy to roll huge boulder.

The gyirong port is so close to ground zero, Just one of the huge boulder is enough to demolish the buildings. The countless gravel are like bullets will erode the buildings grain by grain.

Reports say China rescue teams managed to clear a path to the custom building site yesterday .

And the terrain look like this. Everything is buried underneath the dried mud.

There is a sacred mountain Mount Kailash 冈仁波齐峰 in China Tibet side. There are many devotees from different religions go there do the 52km pilgrimage clockwise walking route each year.

This is the horse year so you walk one round is equivalent to walking 4 rounds when you walk other year. Thus there are many more tourists going there this year.

Travel wise it is easier/faster and cheaper travel from Nepal and cross the border comparing to travel within China.

Aftermath of the hydropower plant weir gates under construction by the korean company located 30+ km downstream from gyirong port. The thick solid concrete walls in the middle erased, only left the side concrete wall. Compare with the before photo taken 2 months ago. This hydropower plant project cost 712 billion korean won.

What is the chances for the gyirong port buildings so near ground zero and way less solid than the dam wall to remain standing???
