I think the buildings all got erased by the mudflow. See how the multiple storey carpark instantly burst and collapsed when hit by the mudflow. The mudflow was not just water and mud, had countless gravels, numerous huge boulders. See the france news video showed how the mudflow travelled very far downstream still had energy to roll huge boulder.

The gyirong port is so close to ground zero, Just one of the huge boulder is enough to demolish the buildings. The countless gravel are like bullets will erode the buildings grain by grain.
Tofu construction lah.

what’s unbelievable is that Nepal totally reject foreign rescue help and wants cash contributions instead.
Cuz all survivors are above mud. Under mud no one can survive. What's the point of sending rescuers? There's nothing to dig also. Even tiongkok sent troopers with shovers is for show nia. I don't think they going to dig for bodies. More like dig for a road or path. People who survive the mud will make their way to high ground and helicopters is already looking for people in open.

They want cash cuz need to rebuild or give money to people. But if corruption is norm then bobian.

Last time i go Japan the volcano eruption buried the whole town sia. They end up making it a tourist attraction and don't bother to dig or whatever.

You guys are weird.
* There is no PDPA in Nepal
* They rank amongst the poorest countries in the world, don't expect 1st world standards
* They have a lot more critical and urgent things than to get concern over a name list
* Why are you imposing your values over them?

🤔
Actually give them data no use. Alive mean alive will come home. Mati mean mati

Nepal had a devastating earthquake some years ago now hit by mud avalanches.the tourism industry will suffer .
All these not cause by global warming. All these are caused by overdoing tourism. People keep climbing the mountains and knock here knock there on mountains rocks. Then they pangsai on the mountain also. So in conclusion this is not 天灾 but more 人祸

For the disparity in casualties between the two countries so far, think this illustration explains well. The inundation zone is overwhelmingly in Nepal side.

I understand that the mountain is a sacred religious site for Hindus and Buddhists but in this day and age, surely there are ways to practice faith without compulsory travel to the deadly Himalayan mountains which have already claimed thousands of lives. Mount Everest itself is a massive graveyard of brave corpses from all over the world.

It would be much safer to travel to a temple or monastery for a pilgrimage rather than to put one's life at the mercy of natural disasters by trekking to a mountain, especially a mountain range that is known to be difficult terrain.

7 bodies were already swept all the way downstream to India...

The Indian authorities recovered seven bodies from rivers flowing from Nepal, believed to be victims of devastating floods, officials said on Aug 28, underscoring the scale of the deadly disaster.

The bodies were found floating in rivers in the Maharajganj and Kushinagar districts of Uttar Pradesh state, which borders Nepal’s southern flood-hit Chitwan region.

“Four unidentified bodies were recovered in the district on Thursday (Aug 27),” Maharajganj district magistrate Gaurav Singh Sogarwal told AFP news agency.

“We think they have been swept into India from Nepal following flash floods there.”

Three more bodies were recovered in Kushinagar district, around 70km downstream from the frontier, a police official confirmed.

The authorities are working to identify the bodies.

Before the flood hit the Trishuli River in Nuwakot yesterday, police vehicles had repeatedly instructed people to evacuate that area. Even the army's helicopter was flying around, showing a red flag. Despite all this, people, assuming a major flood wouldn't come, acted carelessly and stayed put in defiance, which seems to have caused extensive damage.

If you want to blame CCP, you should blame them for ignoring the geological watermarks and built below it.

Geological and geographical information should have provided sufficient prior warnings: the highest water line of historical debris flows on the back slope behind the Customs Building; the triangular area below the Customs Building is not natural, but was formed by the deposition of historical debris flows, which is immediately apparent upon drilling a single borehole.
