One possible reason for the news blockage on China side is that Tibet, like XJ, is considered a 'sensitive' region..
Think its just part and parcel of the usual practise bah. Its not an isolated case. But generally. Go see the past news like often major event or disaster happened, they seems to often do that. And when lives are involved, no matter how big the disaster, how widely affected the people, they like tend gross over the number of people mati to outside. Not sure what so sensitive about the social aspect of life.

The news said few hundred died and few thousand missing...

Be careful and dun take any diagrams and videos online at face value as they can be misleading.

the flood occur along 170km of length, about 90% in Nepal and 10% in Tibet. The ratio is less than 10x and not more than 100x. The flood mainly devastate the banks which is about 50-300m wide, not more than 100km wide.

also Nepal is within top 100 on free press index. It is unlikely that a dam rupture will not be covered within the first few days by actual named press media.

i can’t independently find reporting of such an event (corresponding to the above video) so far. There is a chance the video you show may be AI generated. If you want to give it benefit of doubt, just give it a week to see if anything concrete surface, and it might not.

I think at the Gyirong building....should still have people in it right? Especially basements? Underground carparks....? Are the rescuers using those sensitive sound equipments to detect survivors?

the building is gone...
if there are any surviving people in basements, will take the rescuers time to dig thru the thick layer of mud and debris.

From these two comparison photos, it looks like the buildings were obliterated instead of being buried.

It's difficult to imagine how anyone can survive such an impact. The scene is as if a nuke went off.

So any people in the building would have perished with the building and washed down the river.

Don't think there's a chance to find their bodies... 😞 would be by luck and heaven's will.

There are huge rocks, concrete and other large debris in the water mud mixture. Many bodies might already be ground to pieces. :(

Yea, there are probably many trapped inside the building. Even if the building survived, many are buried in tons of mud. And if the building was obliterated, the bodies washed downstream to Nepal and maybe even India. With all the rolling and debris, the bodies are likely dismembered.

And we have siao langs in this thread shouting "confirmed death counts from that side too low! Cover up! Ccp is ccb! "
