Yea, there are probably many trapped inside the building. Even if the building survived, many are buried in tons of mud. And if the building was obliterated, the bodies washed downstream to Nepal and maybe even India. With all the rolling and debris, the bodies are likely dismembered.

And we have siao langs in this thread shouting "confirmed death counts from that side too low! Cover up! Ccp is ccb! "

This kind of situation very hard to confirm death count since you need to access the area and dig out the bodies + there is also the risk of a second wave. With still so much people missing it will be some time before they dig everyone out

Some geology and engineering experts are saying this is a man-made disaster. They should have anticipated flash floods and mudslides in this critical convergence point of the rivers but from the before photos there were no buffers for these natural events.

salute the rescuers who must really have the strongest & bravest hearts to look at all these (y)

So how to survive such encounters? Faster get to high ground?

From these two comparison photos, it looks like the buildings were obliterated instead of being buried.

It's difficult to imagine how anyone can survive such an impact. The scene is as if a nuke went off.

So any people in the building would have perished with the building and washed down the river.

Don't think there's a chance to find their bodies... 😞 would be by luck and heaven's will.
they probably have numbers of how many people that were inside during the disaster, problem is the numbers are clear right now.. while nepal already announced via govt website particulars of people who are supposedly missing and is there during the disaster... so many CCTV don't know how many people inside .. so many days still not releasing numbers

Lots of fake videos and clips online
Alot of one sided videos showing only nepal side lua jialat lua jialat.. very obvious one. Hopefully all the ones that are trapped are rescued soon which i think Nepal is doing a very good job

It looks like the lake water is completely emptied out on the downstream destroying everything in its path ,judging from the enormous volume and velocity of the flow of water

The usual CCP tactic is out.
Footage of Tibet floods isn't being shown in China - and we know little about victims there

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cx2z415w2gpo

Indeed from RedNote, WeChat, and Weibo most of it is removed and being limit. 😅
Typical China-hater quoting exaggerated anti-China sources to bash CCP while people are dying left and right.
Well done milking the most out of the blood of thousands of people to further your agenda.

Seems like to you, it's more important to show certain pictures on social media than to have well-equipped rescuers rush and show up on site. When you're stuck in the mud, which one is more important? Have your picture shown to the whole world to become meme, or somebody strong to come look for you and pull you out?

Assuming there is advance warning giving you extra 7mins and you are at the Giyrong border. The decision that you make will make a difference.

A) If you panic and decide to drive downhill, it is likely a GG decision. The flash flood was coming down at speed of apprx 150-180 kph. I dont think you will be able to drive very far off in a winding valley road in that 7mins. From google map, the downhill road are just next to the river banks. The flash flood will just catch up soon and you will just go down together with the flood.

B) if you decide to drive uphill direction (the video whereby the bus port building that was flash away). As per the video below, it say the flash flood went uphill for around 2.4km. So if you drive fast enough in that 7mins, maybe you might survive.

China show a before and after video of the Giyrong border immigration building. Looks like the building is gone.

Man-made in what way?
You mean the Nepalis and Chinese govt built border checkpoints and villages at the riverbanks?

The ‘Asian water tower’ is starting to wobble, computer simulations show

The Tibetan Plateau is losing stability, a study suggests, as a catastrophic flash flood hit on the Nepal-China border

“Asia’s water tower” is heading towards a more unpredictable and unstable future, according to a new study measuring the Tibetan Plateau’s stability.
The study, published on August 21 in Nature Communications, examined the entropy of the region to gauge how much chaos or disorder was building up in a complex system.

The results were released just days before a catastrophic flash flood struck the Nepal-China border, killing hundreds and leaving a trail of devastation along the way.
