You know what's funny about this. The Singapore government wants Singaporean in their 40s+ to quit their well paying job to:

1. Get into debt going back to school.

2. Work as a janitor.

3. Complete with 20s to get a janitor job.

as i've said before, this scheme is all about laundering public funds to their cronies running dubious fronts out of shophouses and industrial parks

if it was truly about helping and upskilling sinkies they would have done this very differently (e.g allowed funds to be used for internationally recognised certs/exams like CFA, CPA, PMP, microsoft etc)

Yep it's a government scam to get rich Singaporean richers.

To get 40+ people in debt. With a declining birth rate. Less young people means less money coming in. You now need to get people saving up for retirement to spend money.

It is utter rubbish to charge $580 to teach toilet cleaning. Poor cleaners are made to pay for such nonsense just to get certified? How long is the course?

once u see PAP as an industrial mechanism to transfer wealth from the lower and middle class to the rich in SG, u can never unsee it and every policy and decision they make would make extra sense.

Yep. Singaporean actually argue and defend these government scams in another post. They believe that government is helping them by giving $3k of education money.

The fact is it designed to get you into debt when your supposed to start saving for retirement. At 40+ you're not thinking about going back to school or change careers paths. You are thinking about saving for retirement.

They have the data of retrenchment .

Probably projecting more sg in their 40s to be retrenched and replaced by cheaper Ft cos sg in their 40s are becoming expensive drawing higher salaries…

Close the open legs and sg in their 40s will be safe ?

And it's still a scam regardless of the data is correct or not. Think about it.

You're 40+ years old. Going back to school and getting into debt to start over as a janitor cleaning toilets for example.

You are competing with 20 years old for the same job at the bottom of the career chain.

Does this makes any sense?

A better solution is a pay cut or get a job outside of Singapore.

Sadly, this has been going on for years. There are about 8 cleaning modules in a full certificate including toilet cleaning.

The training schools who were approved to run these cleaning courses by SSG will get agents to recruit learners. The uncles n aunties will use their skillsfuture credit to pay, then after completing the course, gov will award them training allowance of $1400 cash. Meanwhile the sales agent boss get $20k comms a month. The uncles and aunties never have intention to work as cleaners. They attend to get the training allowance.

When u talk to the so called students, they will tell u they are not sure what course they are attending. All they know is after attending 9 days they will get the training allowance. Faint

Pure government money laundering scam. Using tax payer money to enrich politicians, their family, and friends.
