Singtel provides next-to-non-existend documentation for the ZTE F8648P XGS-PON ONR. Maybe the existing users can share the features. It may be a bit feature rich than the normal Singtel Nokia/Huawei GPON ONR.

1) Does it allow to set up 3rd party DNS server?
2) What are the security setting features provided?
3) What are the parental control features provided?

Similarly Starhub also does not provide the Nokia XGS-PON ONR documentation. It will be interesting to know the feature sets.

Cat6.

All cable runs inside the walls are under 30m, shouldn't have an issue assuming your router can keep up.

Wanted to check with all the brothers here, currently i am using Ubiquiti with U6-LR, USG, 8 Ports POE switch and 5 ports Flex, all is 1Gbit port.

My new BTO is ready somewhere next year, i was thinking should i upgrade to Dream Special Edition (I want to add G4 DoorBell Pro at main entrance, and probably with 2 G4 Bullet CCTV in living room and kitchen), U6-Enterprise x 2 and U6-Enterprise?

I see the new 10Gbps plan offered by SH and MR with TP-Link AXE300 and ST coming with Wifi 7 and also provide quite tokong tp-link router.

With the all thought to invest in new Unifi, should I just go for single TP-Link AXE300 and place it in living room? According to spec it can cover 3500sqft (but abit hao siao coz alot of wall in between). Can that single unit cover my whole house?

if not i need to cater for Cat6A cables for the AP, and the AP only 2.5Gbps not 10Gbps, Will it be very different from what i using now (1Gbps)?

Wanted to have the feedback how should i go? Or changing all to Ormada also good idea?

I'm using CAT 6 for my AP with 5Gbps link. If the price difference not a lot between for CAT6 and 6A, it will be worthwhile to go for CAT6A. If LAN cable is concealed, it will not be easy to upgrade in future.

Quality of cable is also important as i found out that some LAN cable that i have is able to be attracted by magnet.

Can I know which router, AP you are using? Can list the model that you are using?

I think question is not about the physical cables, it is more like worth to upgrade the AP from 1Gbps to 2.5Gbps?

I using Zyxel WAX650S with pfsense. I feel it is same compared to my previous 1Gbps link access point. Maximum speed i ever see is around 800Mbps on this ax access point.

Future access point will sure require more than 1Gbps link. Current access point is also using 802.3bt PoE, so is good to have better cable to support the wattage.

Hmm I wonder if they are any laws preventing us running fibre cables along side other cables. Planning to have my PCs in a server rack in the future. Similar to LTT's home setup, but not so extreme.

Why would there be such laws? Fibre cables aren't susceptible to emf interference nor would they cause interference anyway. What would be a bigger concern is if your bend radius is too small leading to signal loss.

Why don’t you get WiFi 7 APs or routers. Saw challenger already selling the TP link WiFi 7 router. To utilize the speed of WiFi 7, might have to upgrade network switches to 10G ports.
