I’m not sure what terminal patching means but confirmed not installing another TP. Not sure of port 2 also. I asked MR cso whether will have downtime she said no. Guess can only find out on Friday what NLT going to do.
Ok, NLT technician just left my house. He mentioned he already activated port 2 on my TP. He plugged a fibre cable to port 2 of my TP and used his optical multi meter to measure. He mentioned that the signal is very good. I don’t know how to interpret the readings though. Also need to sign on the service report form.

Hopefully next wed fibre installation on port 2 will go according to plan.

Hi, for my case NLT technician do testing on port 2 on the TP inside house.
No idea leh. Mine self service outside.
I dont even need to wait for them to come and perform the activity.
Just received SMS from Singtel reminding of my fibre installation on Monday too

That is normal, the CPU inside the Asus RT-AX11000 Pro (BCM4912) can not handle 10Gbps OOkla Speedtest. Maybe the Flash memory inside the router plays a part as well (I have not checked).

My Asus RT-AX86U (BCM4908) can not handle 2.5G iperf3 test either. I have to use a mini PC attached to the 2.5Gbps port for that test. I can not run OOkla Speedtest over 1Gbps as I only have Singtel 1Gbps. BCM4912 is apparently a bit faster than BCM4908.

Wait moving forward got better router then upgrade again liao.
Currently wanna jump ship from Starhub due to service issue.
This 10gbps plan with the router, seems like a more worthwhile deal than to get a 1gbps.
so y not

Sorry I did not make it clear when I say "the CPU of the CPU inside the Asus GT-AX11000 Pro (BCM4912) can not handle 10Gbps OOkla Speedtest", I meant to say the test using the Asus router's built-in SpeedTest (powered by OOkla) is not showing the real capability of the Asus router. If you use a Desktop PC with 10G Ethernet Card and then connect to the 10G LAN port of the GT-AX11000 Pro, you should get much higher than what you get now.

I think GT-AX11000 Pro is a capable router to handle 10Gbps broadband. It is just you may need a 10G capable device to utilize its full potential (eg: 10G capable PC, NAS and maybe 10G capable network switch).

BTW, II also mentioned that "Maybe the Flash memory inside the router plays a part as well (I have not checked)".

Just for reference, it is the same for my Asus RT-AX86U which can not get >900Mbps download speed when running Router's built-in SpeedTest. That does not mean it can not handle 1Gbps Fibre Broadband. In fact I think it can even handle 2.5Gbps Fibre Broadband.

Rather I need to use a mini PC attached to the Asus RT-AX86U router to test the speed.

Code:
root@pve:~# ./speedtest

   Speedtest by Ookla

     Server: Singtel - Singapore (id = 13623)
        ISP: Singtel Fibre
Latency: 1.65 ms (0.03 ms jitter)
Download: 946.60 Mbps (data used: 425.7 MB )
Upload: 946.79 Mbps (data used: 1.1 GB )
Packet Loss: 0.0%

Cannot. Coz only 1 10gbps port.
if use it as Wan port, no more 10gbps port for wired connection.
Probably need Ax89x or Axe16000 with dual 10gbps port for it.

Good point. I forgot that the other mulit-gig port is only 2.5Gbps (and somehow the website shows it is only for WAN, which is kind of strange, maybe it is not that correct).

So you may need to add a 10G switch in this case. As Singtel 10G ONR is the main router, so you can do this in the future.

Singtel 10G ONR -- 10G switch -- GT-AX11000 Pro.

https://rog.asus.com/networking/rog-rapture-gt-ax11000-pro-model/spec/
Ports:
1 x 2.5 Gigabit WAN Port
1 x 10 Gigabit WAN/LAN Port
4 x Gigabit LAN Ports
1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Port
1 x USB 2.0 Port

Actually no use case for me to get a 10G switch now.
As I full wireless setup.

and the madness price haha

speedtest from the asus router.
I do not have 10gbps port so cant do lan test.
Wifi wise, capped by device speed. my 14pm getting 800+mbps only.
The installer s23u i think is 1200 to 1500
You just need to get a usb to LAN adaptor and your LAN cable must be at least Cat 6.

My MR 10Gbps plan setup a while ago. As what 1 bro has mentioned, the tp link axe300 wifi 6e options are currently not available in Singapore. So basically it is now the same as ax11000 routers. Only able to get wifi 6e options after fw update available once imda approves it.

Connection:
TP —> Nokia ONT fibre port —> Nokia ONT 10Gbps lan port —> Tp link axe300 10Gbps wan port —> Tp link axe300 10Gbps lan port —> PC 10Gbps network card lan port.

Wifi speed tested with iPhone 14pm. Roughly about the same as previous Asus ax11000 as still using wifi 6. Will try to see any wireless settings to configure in routers page.
