It still is.

Very likely one of the SATA ports will be disabled if you connect an mSATA.

Even NGFF also result in one SATA port being disabled. Likely that the PCH cannot accommodate the extra bandwidth if both the mSATA/NGFF and SATA port is populated.

Lol.

Don't misunderstand.. Your motherboard will have a slot for putting the mSATA SSD. It's similar to the way you install notebook memory modules.

Your mSATA SSD will not require a cable to be connected to your regular SATA port.

i think the best future proofing is not to future proof. get whats the best buck for now. and do constant upgrade :X

Went to hoot my remainder of system yesterday. My tour
Bestbuy quoted 620 for
H87 performance + 4570
1TB blue
Golden King 750W

TP quoted 680
H87 performance + 4570
1TB blue
Seasonic P760W( they say distro say no stock for Golden King)

Paid cash at TP and took those item home :) 60bucks for full modular + 10W + 7 years warranty. I think its a steal.
Btw my experience at both shop was fun, especially TP.

Fuwell now not very popular to go to already. TP can cut throat price if u are willing to play game with them. PCT-safe

Hope TS can enjoy his next month!

Just prepare your cash ready. No need go down multiple day. They, TP are able to match other store prices. Just that after price list still can further cut especially with cash payment.
My stuff at price from price list is
Mobo+4570 by right 381+20(cause not full package)
1tb blue 76
Seasonic plat from mnc is 239 or 245 at someother store.
Din bargain much, not regular customer already save 30 plus dollars wor.

yes, do some 'homework" first by running around sls to ask at least 3 stores for a quote, then head to tradepac and slash $50 off the cheapest price you got

Hi bro, I'm playing ff xiv on maximum with no issues. Perhaps u might wanna use my build as a reference.

Cpu-i5 4670k oc at 4.4ghz
Cooler-corsair h80i
Mobo-asus maximus vi hero
Gpu-Palit gTX 670 jetstream(from my old rig)
Ssd-corsair force 128 gb
Psu-corsair rm 750w
Cpu casing-cm storm trooper

I got my parts mostly from best buy beside tradepac. Imho, I had some hiccups with tradepac for my h80i and cm storm trooper casing so I wouldn't recommend them if you're looking for aftersales service.

Btw sorry for the messy reply as I'm replying using my mobile phone.

ps. does a MSI B85-G43 Gaming fit in a Fractal Design ARC Mini R2?

it looks like it should fit and i saw a pic of someone with a MSI z77 MPOWER in a Fractal Design ARC Midi R2 (they're the same size arnt they? mini and midi. just windowed or not.) and even had room at the top for the rad for Corsair Hydro Series H100i CPU Cooler.

his set up was:
Fractal Design Arc Midi R2
MSI Z77 MPOWER
CPU 2700K "batch 3143B250" look promising
MSI GeForce GTX 770 Lightning 2GB
Corsair Dominator Platinum CMD8GX3M2B2133C9 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
Seasonic Platinum Series 80Plus Platinum 860W PSU (Version 2)
Samsung 840 EVO Series 500GB SSD
Corsair Hydro Series H100i CPU Cooler
X2 Corsair Air Series SP120 Quiet Edition
X3 Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition

haha i surf often on my mobile too and i understand the limitations while doing that.

for me, just by the price list, bestbuy feels worse then tradpac XD.... whats the point in a price list if pretty much everything other then mb+cpu and a few select items are quoted 'offer'
im looking at a possible 4670k instead of 4670 since its a small difference in price but im really hesitant to OC. i've never done that and its scary to a newbie like me tbh

i now know B85 MBs can OC k cpus. my next qn is. is it recommended? i know that MSI have offical notice that they dont recommend it but consumer wise?

Haha, I'm a newbie at oc too but I did a fairly bit of reading and found out that it is pretty easy to understand actually.

For me, I dealt with both shops tradepac and best buy and to me, I prefer aftersales den price.

The story bout my case with tradepac was I went there bought my psu, cm storm trooper casing and h80i. When I went home I found out that the cm storm trooper was defective with some problem in their screw hole threading, I brought it back the next day and they refused to change it for me claiming that it could have been me who damaged the screw hole thread and told me to send it for rma instead.

Upon sending to ban leong the technician upon hearing that i bought it from tradepac shook his head and changed my casing with no question asked.

The other parts of my build which I got from best buy did not have any problem but it was their customer service which impressed me. They offered to rma for me any of the parts which I bought from them if any problem occurred.

So basically, it boils down to u whether u want cheap but no aftersales service or pay a bit more for the much better service which best buy provides.

For me, once bitten twice shy. I will not patronize tradepac again. U pay peanuts u get monkeys.

Btw, here's a tip. Go tradepac ask for their price and go best buy see if they can match.

Most likely they will try to match as they do not want to lose out to their competitor. That way u get best of both worlds.

yepp best buy the best. went there before to get what i want then they instead of upselling me products like other stores, they recommended me parts that i need for my usage. Price points are reasonable too. oh if can speak with the abit fat ah beng he very friendly actually hahahaha

Haha thats a good idea.

Now on a related topic, i'm a public transporter, by no means rich, so i plan on a MRT ride down then a cab ride back. Not gonna lug all those boxes and casing all over XD
So my Qn is, is there a sweet spot to take a cab from SLS? The few times i've been down to SLS i always had trouble finding cabs. This time, leaden down with my purchases, i do not really wish to have to spend all those time and effort (better used at home with my new new rig!!) On looking for a cab.

Isn't there a taxi stand there? Actually I'm not very sure if it still exists becoz I drive there. But cabs should frequent there since lasalle is there. Surely a lot of students take cabs.

If u want b85 g43 gaming u can go arc midi (atx case) can house anything tt is atx board and smaller. Mini is similar to midi just smaller and only can house matx and smaller board. Depend whether u want more space to work with or save space in ur final setup. Both comes with window and non window if im not wrong. Actually wanted to get midi also. But my ahLian still standing strong. No need to go define if u prefer the arc style. Define is slient case :)

There's a taxi stand near the busstop. However due to construction u need to walk a fair bit. Get one really good fren to go with u? Den can treat him with the discount you saved. Cause if there is casing + psu its pain in the ass for me :D alternative get casing online like from MNC delivery.
