I sometimes don't get notified when tagged in a post. The most recent was when @mrclubbie tagged me.

Not sure if this has been raised, but the bottom bar (forums, what's new, post thread, search) is really irritating.

Whenever I type reply, click post reply, it re-direct me to search and other things on the bottom bar instead of posting the reply. Any way to disable the bottom bar?

There's a setting to where you click the link of the thread it goes to the earliest unread post.

How long is this database stored? I noticed some threads that I've definitely entered and read. But after a few weeks without entering, I will be directed back to the first post

Could it be because you used a different browser or the cache was cleared? Or the thread was merged with another.

I have been using different browsers (phone vs desktop) where the thread tracking was immediate. Like when I browse certain threads on my phone, those threads were "marked as read" when I swapped over to desktop. So I dun think it's client side cache.

Latest thread I saw this behaviour was https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/passport-application-waiting-time.6725024/. I do notice that there's a period of time where there are no new posts in the threads that I encountered this.

For merged threads, I'll at least see some familiar posts in that same page that I got redirected to.

That thread was merged with another thread on 5 Jul and also merged with 5 other threads on 6 May.

We will monitor and see if we can replicate what you encountered, so that we can find out what causes it.

If this helps, based on my Firefox history, that particular thread appeared in "This month" and "August". I do recall seeing some of the Aug posts as well.

Also, I think the common factor is not entering the thread for a period of time.

- Capture the problem with a screenshot

In the mobile Chrome browser, when cursor placed in reply box, the onscreen keyboard appears.
Above the onscreen keyboard, there's a Google ad (circled)
This ad refreshes every X seconds
Every time the ad refreshes or blinks (attempting to refresh), the onscreen keyboard minimizes
Very annoying issue because while typing halfway, the keyboard will disappear and finger may accidentally press the underlying links in that area, such as Home, ad links etc, that brings me to another page. Sometimes causing whatever I typed to be lost.
Since this code is inserted into the mobile HWZ site, it might have something to do with your code.
I'm 99% sure it's the Google ad banner because everytime the ad blinks or refreshes, the keyboard will minimize.
If you click on the banner "X" to close the ad, then this problem goes away.
Understand this can be simply fixed by closing the ad, but the underlying issue of the Ad code is still there.

- Share what device and browser was used to access the forums
On Google Pixel 6 Pro, surfing HWZ via Chrome app

- When did it happen and is it repeatable (if this is applicable)
Every time the Google Ads refreshes and yes, it's repeatable

Do you still encounter this problem?
