Posted my review on the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar.

"The new MacBook Pro is more portable than ever, has a great screen, and really useful Touch ID. Then, there’s also the cool Touch Bar that everyone can wow over. The loss of legacy ports will need some adjustments."

Nice review.

Since you are in IT. Can I assume that you planned to use the new machine for work?

Would love to get your feedback after 1 month to see if this machine is applicable in your line of work. Especially if you actually missed the function keys (I know we can get it back by holding fn key).

Thanks.

Played with the touchbar a little at the airport istudio.

I won't say its bad having it, but I'm a bit 'meh' about the whole thing. Doesn't make my user experience any better (or worse).

If it were me I'd rather put the money on a better CPU, GPU, or SSD. Too bad apple will not refresh the processor and upgrade options with the non toucher versions

Really wanted to upgrade my mac this year but guess I'll wait for what they come up with next year. Hopefully they drop prices. My habit is to run max upgrade spec and this year, the 15 inch MBP maxed out with AppleCare will cost $6500. Thats just nuts

Sure I'll do that. I adjusted with the loss of serial port, then the ethernet port... I think the Escape key wouldn't be that much worse than that. :)

Got my mbp 15 TB last friday from harvey norman

Things are really brisk with the improved SSDs.

Can't say I am sold on the touch bar (unless adobe does something amazing with it for Lightroom)

In fact, I don't think I used the touch bar at all today, although touch ID is excellent.

I am concerned about the repairability of this machine - as ifixit mentioned, if something goes kaput (except the touch pad) the entire logic board may have to be replaced.

Guess its time for me to buy applecare...

Treat AppleCare as an insurance; repairing a Mac can be very expensive.
