my spouse thinks she is ok. her work so-so but she is quite dishonest in terms of telling lies like when i asked if she did this work, she will say yes but i have cctv in the house which clearly shows she did not. so her integrity is a bit questionable. also when we go holiday, have told her the agreed time to come back, she came back 2 hours later after i messgaed her where she was. my mum who came to visit, also has caught her disappeared from our house for at least 2 hours when we were on holiday and her excuse is she went nearby coffeeshop to eat and buy things cos she is alone and lazy to cook for herself. so she was actually gone from our house for 3 hours+ from cctv

if its a helper who has been with us for a long time, and did out of a moment of folly i might still forgive. but this is just been with us for a few months.
This type of maid doesn't need to re consider just send back. New already like that, can't imagine the poor work performance down the road + lies.
Is this a transfer maid?
So new yet dare to borrow from loan shark already. If after 21 days at your expense and no taker, you still have to buy air ticket to send her home.
These days many maids come here to be TikTok content creators, get boyfriends, paid holidays. Hard to get a hardworking one that really want to earn money to send home.

Hi

can check new maid (few months with us) borrow from loan shark (uml). technically she is cleared from police as they have deemed her as not assisting loan shark in anyway, so its up to me if want to keep helper or no.

we have confirmed a new helper (from same agency) as still within their exchange policy. but standard contract is that usually need to give 21 days for existing helper to find new employer in normal cases. these 21 days is like a notice period which existing helper can stay in the same employer house or stay with agency (but employer need to pay for 1st 21 days of lodging). i do not wish to let my helper know i am terminating her service.

when maid agency 1st knew about this helper loan shark issue, they say its up to me to want to still keep or send her back to her country. so now sending back to her country seems like on my onus now and from out of my pocket.

technically existing helper can still work in singapore. but i cannot imagine anyone who wants to hire her because of this loan shark issue and any agency who dare to advertise this helper.

so my question is since i am still within the free exchange policy, should i be responsible to send my helper back and paid for costs involved. or should agency take up the responsibilty and pick up the cost?
Onlie takes an innocent comment from the kid. If chiu hear horror stories b4 den chiu might juz send bak stat.

We did terminate the previous maid and within the period of exchange policy. We just sent back to agency. No need to pay for her food and lodging. Agency gao dim
what was your contract like? did they stipulate by right need to pay.

some may be standard contract having such stipulstions. but of course for business reputation, they will waive off especially for serious cases.

Sending back to agency at no cost is provided agency is willing to accept her back. For this case, agency already not going to accept her back. Just pay around $130 air ticket to send her back. Just close one eyes and save yourself from all the hassle. you can still buy air ticket and send her to airport tomorrow.

first few months already such headaches. There will only be more and not less when they are more comfortable in the environment.

No. Didn't mention need to pay. We are allowed to have 1x change within the period. Maybe different agency different terms.

Sometimes, we have to accept that there are hidden cost of hiring helper. Like things they steal, spending time to resolve the problems they caused etc. hiring helper is to resolve our problem, free us from our commitment, not to cause more problem. no point arguing with agency. They can just hold their ground and you will be at the losing end. as things drag any further, no one else but your family will suffer. If less than 200 can solve things, then be it. If not, you may want to rethink on the affordability Or suitability.

i am not standing from the point of agency. No verbal or contract agreement mention about agency paying for air ticket or lodging, then? Just move on. That is why my first sentence in this thread is that your agency is not good.

How is this a question? Just look at what is stated in the contract.

you solve the maid loan problem by withholding her work permit card. i know. she is supposed to have the card. but to protect yourself, keep the card. spf & mom doesn't care about you. maids taking loans is a serious problem. the ministers involved are sleeping on their jobs. keep the helper wp card. there's no better way at the moment

Maids come with EXCHANGE POLICY?!

Wah. Buy/sell products ah?

if u can hire a maid, then u'll know the basic principle of "money can earn back, sanity cannot."

deport her, don't hire another one. Maids/modern day slaves are nothing but trouble.

Should buy a insurance for the maid incase she runs away. Than contact the loan shark make a deal with them sell the maid to northern myanmar and share the profit.
