Never heard of scammers asking people to go meet them in Singapore before.

I was surprised too. He named a convincing location but never say which floor level and unit number, like expecting the security post will direct the victim to the correct floor.

The focus was to trick you to go to their office. I suspect u might not be able to find and then call back the person. From there, the scammer will likely start to manipulate the victim.

Go office to ask u transfer money?

Some of them is to make friend with you , let you understand their businesses, tell you they are very successful doing the business etc etc. enticing you to invest your money blah blah blah. Do you call this scammer? He can be a real person who can meet you outside.

first, **** them upside down.. no harm right....lol
No harm?

They could be recording and deep fake your voice to scam your family and friends.

Microsoft had ai that could emulate your tone and voice with less than 5 second of your voice since two years ago. That was when AI was still at gpt 3.They stopped the public release but most other AI should be able to do it by now.

My friend last year told me someone used his voice to call his colleague to borrow money. :(

Recently I received calls on 3 occasions, claiming they were from WeChat, informing that WeChat will be charging for their service. Sounds fishy. They wanted me to do something or cancel my account if I don't want to be charged. Something to that effect. I said if that's the case, I would cancel on my own and he said he would call back again if I didn't. Another person did indeed call back after a few days, but his Chinese accent was so strong, and my Chinese isn't that good to fully understand him well so I hung up. Tried calling back but I ignored the call.

Not sure if anyone has encountered this?

What is your automated filter, can teach? Don't tell me is just block all calls that are not in your contact list?
Blocking all unknown caller is just the first level basic.

if anyone just needs to be taught this much, damn jiat lat.

and dun say, "in case delivery driver call me.". one day how many deliveries coming? Buy lesser, or just leave explicitly clear non-contact delivery instructions. If the fella dunno how to read English, Chinese or any other 120 languages in the world, then sorry, he/she is too stupid to live.

The purpose is not to meet you.

They tell you to convince you that they are real, and if you really follow the instructions to go and even if you don't find the location.

It means that you are following the instructions of the scammer and has a higher probability to follow their next instructions.

This is a psychological and behavioural tactic commonly used by scammers. To make you first follow what they said. That's why they ask you some mundane stuffs to lead you to say yes and follow their leads.

Nowadays scamming is a billionaire industry. There are many legit professionals inside to do tests, correct and perfect their scripts. It's a game of probability, they don't need to win 100 pct. Improving just a few percent can mean a few more million dollars of revenue.

So people who tot that they are damn smart, good luck to them. They can be better to avoid getting conned but don't mean that their family have the same odds. :(
