Unfortunately, Japanese phones can't be rooted. Your best bet would be 305SH (305SH is JP model, you have to search for the US model, which I've forgotten the model no.) The peeps there at xda might have come up with some root stuffs.

I might be interested if my current phone gives way. Other than checking the phone status to be (O), need to make sure it is sim free or 白ロム to be usable here right? First time looking for japanese phones

O = The phone at this state will not be locked/banned by DoCoMo, and SIM unlock is possible

Δ = The phone has a chance/risk to be locked/banned by DoCoMo, but SIM unlock is still possible

x = The phone has been locked by DoCoMo. SIM unlocking is impossible


SIM free might be a gimmick in my opinion. SIM free does not equate to SIM unlock since all DoCoMo phones are SIM free and ONLY WHEN they are unlocked officially or IMEI unlocked, they are then regarded as SIM Free.

白ロム means the phone is not under any contract but more often than not, I've seen phones being labelled as white rom has Δ instead of O on it, but it is still fine.

Thank you for your reply. Just want to ask how should I begin my search in Japan for the sharp aquos crystal x phone that can be bought unlocked? Doesn't matter if the language is native.

It doesnt matter if its native language or not .It can be unlocked no matter what status its in.
In japan its quite hard to find already unlocked softbanks sharp models.

I have tested this charging block.

And finally found the answer to the charging issues on Crystal and Crystal X.

Basically it just need to have an Adaptive Charging Charger.

For direct charging like Powerbank it will works fine too.

As for wall chargers, it requires a adaptive charger. those capable to output 5v,9v, 12v. With capable of output power of 5v 1.3A for the nonX, and according to my colleagues X is at 1.6A max at 9v.

Its a Choetech 6 ports 60w with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0.

Its last 2 ports label blue are designed for Qualcomms Quick Charge (qqc). As shown above it can go for 5v/9v/12v. 2 of this qqc is rated at 18w each. So technically speaking if you use 12v at 1.5A for both of it it will be slower charge for the top 4 ports. But i doubt any device as of now will use up to 12v @ 1.5A Unless you are using a Z3 Tablet.

As for Crystal it will take in 5v at 1.45V max. Crystal X i will recheck again and double confirm the values (as my colleague isnt around). I need to find a USB doctor that can read above 7v. Cause all my USB doctor could not measure above that voltages as its physical limitations is from 3.5v-7.5v.

Got the charger from Amazon. But you will need a forwarder to ship the item to you. Cant ship it direct from amazon. Forwarder weight charge is 1.5kg.

Alternatively you can purchase it from ebay.

Note: It comes with a US 2 Pin to fig 8. PLEASE do not use it into our plug. Its rated at 125V and no fuse. Convert it to our 3pin plug to fig 8 with minimum 3A fuse. If you have any 3pin with 3A fuse rating to fig 8 lying around you can use it.

It comes with a single free micro USB cable.

Its rubbery matte surface very nice to hold and grip it or put on any surface as it wont slide off easily.

All ports are 2.4A rated.

So those having super slow charge like me.. Machiam 4hrs.. And those still finding the right charger.. U got ur solution here.
But there's a catch. It needs a universal adapter.

Yeap. So long as its adaptive charger you could charge the crystal x or non x without any issues.
