Really enjoying this rerun. Sound effect is very good I must say. Actors/actresses mostly good but some misses. Kung fu effects should be played up more e.g. Guo Jing's dragon subduing palms is overwhelmingly weak against mei chao feng - but that could be because he has yet to learn the jiuying zhenjing.

The previous version I remember Guo Jing beat mei chao feng easily. This version how come he like very lousy leh.

Those who prefer Zhu Yin as Huang Rong definitely borned in 80s de
She's really good at acting pretty but impish characters just like the fairy in Journey to the west 1 and 2.
Will get around to watching Barbara Yung's version one of these days for comparison.

I watched the barbara yeung, zhu yin and this version leh.

Zhu yin is pretty, cute and charming. Very good.

This li yi tong huang rong has additional (maybe unintended) attributes. Not sure if it's intentionally created, but this version of huang rong has a lot of demureness, class, elegance. Maybe it's her facial features, super fair complexion coupled with her clothes or lighting. Has the 气质 of a very classy chio lady.

In fact, she should be more suited to act xiaolongnu.

The standard of xiaolongnu has dropped over the years. Just look at fann wong and chen yanxi. m

This li yi tong definitely can act xiaolongnu. She has an air of demure-ness and elegance due to her dancing background. Not to mention big watery eyes, smooth white complexion and her nice "stoned" expression.
