I am watching quite a bit of Youtube Video on WiFi 7 MLO, even though it is not as mature as what I hope for.

This one may be of interests to U7 Pro Max users (and probably U7 Pro as well). It seems to support eMLSR mode of MLO only as an AP, same as Intel BE200 on the client side. As per the other reports, iPhone 16 gen also supports eMLSR, which matches the wireshark capture in the video.

From the test results in the video, eMLSR does not really seem to improve the max speed (which makes sense since it is still single radio) but it may help the reliability -- the test shows that Intel BE200 wireless client uses 6GHz band first but then switch to 5GHz band (when the loading of 6GHz band increases) is quite interesting.

Previous shared video using U7 Pro and MLO, with both Intel BE200 (eMLSR) and Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 (STR-MLMR) WiFi 7 chipset.

there was a video where the constant switching between frequencies in some cases actually causes longer file transfer times. e.g. U7 lite and U7 wall achieved faster transfer times vs U7 Pro

As I have never used a Unifi product before, specific to Cloud Gateway Fiber, can the WAN port be assigned to one of the non PoE+ 2.5GbE port?

Or it can only choose between 10G RJ45 and one of the SFP+ port?

Yes it is very flexible, you can reasssign another port as WAN.

Please refer to the following simple review.

Simple tests of the performance:

Hi experts here, I am new ubiquiti products. I am also interested this new Cloud gateway fiber. My current ISP is Singtel, any difficulty to use this product with my Singtel ONR? Basically I am interested in having a firewall inside a switch. Based on the initial information that I see, can I consider that this Cloud gateway fiber can be configured as a managed switch right?

I see this solution as much cheaper than Firewalla Gold pro.....

Hello experts, am also moving in to HDB 5 rm resale Q3/Q4 and looking at ubiquiti home network setups... I am intending to get UCG-Fiber as cloud gateway, but thinking to use default routers from ISP (also because have LAN ports, so I can use it as a wifi router + connect to TV, nvidia shield pro, etc..). Is this feasible?

So ISP (ONT) --> UCG Fiber --> 2 AP routers (TP-Link EB810V for example if i go with 10gbps plan from starhub)

I read that it is possible to use other routers as AP, just have to set AP mode (you lose the router's functionalities if there is any). But am no expert and would like to seek advice. 🙏

Would like to check with experts here. Unifi routers do not have link aggregation for the LAN ports? Or I'd need a switch to have this feature?

Not an expert in Ubiquiti stuff but there should be no issues in this case.

UCG-Fiber will be the main router/Firewall in this case.

EB810v has a Combo WAN port (either 10G RJ45 or 10G SFP+). I guess you will put the UCG Fibre in the DB box and then use two EB810v as AP in the rooms (eg: one in living room and the other in one of the bedrooms). So you may need to get two SFP+ to RJ45 modules for your UCG-Fiber.

ONT -- UCG-Fiber 10G RJ45 WAN port

UCG-Fiber 10G SFP+ LAN port 1/2 with SFP+ to 10G RJ45 modules -- patch panel -- room LAN ports -- EB810v AP 1/2

I do not think any of the more advanced Ubiquiti Gateways will be happy to be configured in bridged mode to act as a Firewall + Managed Switch.

Your best bet is to bridge the Singtel XGS-PON ONR, either officially done by SingTel at S$10 per month, or manually by yourself.

The manual bridging instructions (for both ZTE F8648P and Nokia XS-240X-A XGS-PON ONR) are in the following forum thread.

Standard Disclaimer: proceed at your own risk. YMMV.

Use simple setup lor... I am using Singtel ONR to Unifi U7 Pro Max.. I am on 1gb plan now and can achieved 800mb+ down and 900+mb up using my 11" iPad Pro M4.

Indeed this is another way of using SingTel ONR as the main router and not using Unifi Gateways at all, just Unifi APs.

I don't think this is what he wants though. He want to use UCG-Fiber as a transparent firewall plus managed switch, I may be wrong but I don't think it is possible.

He already recon Singtel, so maybe simple setup is the best way unless he wanna break contract and join other camp.

Thank you! That is indeed what I have in mind. So still have the option to slowly switch/scale to Ubiquiti products without getting full suite and 💸💸💸
