This is where the fans jump off the bandwagon, and the opposition bashers jump on.

Hmmmm....notice that happening...maybe can have more innovative way to raise money?

* Take pictures and sign autograph session?
* Auction for memorabilia

Must go check the rules and regulations for donations....

Taken from http://unbiasedelectorate.wordpress...o-defray-cost-of-running-a-election-campiagn/

This appeals made me question NSP election campaign and their credibility as a party. It was mentioned that the appeal was to help them cover the cost of running an election , so did the members gathered a large amount of debt running this election. So was it just for the purpose of reimbursement of the cost , so it wont need to hurt their pocket and suffer any financial lost?

Next wasn't there supposed to be a budget? does that mean they dis-regard their budget and went beyond their mean thus incurring such debt. If it is the case how are they able to lead a GRC much less a country if they couldnt even deal with a simple election budget. How can we trust them to run our country finance next time?. Isnt this akin to 3rd world countries spending more then can afford expecting the world bank to bail them out?

If it was because of bad planning , i am sure many Singaporean are willing to help for the sake of "democracy" . But if it was just to reimbursed their pocket just because they fail to win the election , It is a disappointment and i would say that they do not deserve our help. There is no such thing as a sure win campaign , Parties and its candidate are supposed to plan within their means and run the campaign expecting these cost as un-recoverable in the event they lost.

Look at the reform party , they may not have the largest voice in the election. But perhaps it is due to them being prudent , rather then spending money they do not have. So far from what i know , no other parties have ever made such a request and NSP "Marine parade" is the first. What about SDA lost election deposit who is going to return that? if taken in the same note

Personally i find it of sour taste of their campaign to get back the money was to succeed. It would mean every dog , cat and monkey would run a election with enormous cost and expect us to foot the bill? making the process of election a joke

SO NSP IT IS OF MY OPINION YOU ARE A JOKE

this dude made a good argument

actually if i am not wrong, unless u are of a big party (e.g. PAP, WP and perhaps SDP), u actually have to use your own money for the election.. NSP is a small party.. before election, they dun have much activities.. and so probably all the posters-printing, candidates printout etc must come from somewhere.. i doubt the party has much $$ so the candidates have to come out their own money.. it is actually very low for each candidate at $7,000 for a GRC.. I think they already spent the bare minimum..

just my 5 cents worth.. not every party is a PAP or WP where u get lots of funds..

Indeed....this is the real situation facing smaller parties? Cant compare them to the big big ones...

simply put so if they win how? their salary give us ah.

Putting it bluntly is like telling a businessman asking gahmen to pay for him if he bankrupt. as taken from the blog , if it is bad planning im sure singapore willing to pay for "democracy"

but if it is to cover their own pocket when they know the risk. they dont deserve it

ok lah maybe the warehouse assistant since he do not earn as much as the others

while it is weird to ask for donations now... but it is alot of money to bear...

i mean prior to that, i doubt NSP has any funds per say n so the members have to pay out of their own...

granted, nobody ask them to campaign but still, they prob doing it for both the ppl n of coz the 15k part time pay...

so if u can, just donate, if not, don't bash...

i dun tink she deserves it... pls transfer all hate to TPL or MBT or VB instead...

thank you

Why is she doing this dirty work? What is Goh Meng Seng doing? :s8:

it was mentioned in one of the posts that jeanette had also made an appeal for the defraying of costs and expenses incurred.

do these members need the approval of nsp before making such an appeal?

if so, why are sebastian teo and goh meng seng not leading the appeal for such defraying of costs and expenses?

in nicole's appeal, she did not mention whether her decision to seek an appeal is approved or endorsed by nsp. perhaps there can be a clarification about this too.

properly cashing on her popularity , she can reject 10k endorsement but cannot use that money to rebate on her campaign
