erhmm what do you mean "...grow up"?

She is 24 and legal age of rights that makes one adult is? Voting age. Marrying age. Drinking age. Consenting age. Working age. She is already in adult category, no? You are not falling for her, are you? ;)

the mentality of a 24 and someone much older could be quite different. i guess her views and thinking probably aged a few yrs during these few days. and possibly her temperament too.

or maybe i should use the word 'mature'... =:p

nah, my lady cannot be replaced. :s13:

Like someone said, a week is a long time in politics.

If you compare the official campaign photo and the more recent ones, you can see she definitely has lost quite a bit of weight.

Sounds like you're implying Nicole has a part to play in the whole NSP not winning seats?

Say we don't have Nicole. Do you think NSP could have done any better? Not necessarily.

Don't forget that the well-oiled, well-disciplined WP with strong candidates in at least one other GRC other than the dream team managed to win only 1 GRC (though it's an achievement all by itself).

As Goh Meng Seng admitted, he's made an error for not putting the best in one team, but diluted the firing power across few GRCs.

Don't blame it on Nicole for stealing the show. Tony Tan's team did create buzz. Nicole's light just shone a little brighter that's all.

Truth is, Singaporeans just aren't ready for more opposition.

Right, 60.1% of singaporeans are afraid of opposition. If there is a freak election result, the army will be called in, what are they going to do? They are afraid of losing their lives, their children, their property and their money! :D

it could also be good to lay low once things die down and learn about how the world works. i mean crying every time you hear about aunty cannot pay tuition is sweet, but shows a bit of naivete. if you try to help everyone you may end up helping none. while she is this young, none of the PAP heavyweights dare to criticise her too much or they will look like old bully, so her biggest danger is actually herself. she mustn't be overexposed come 2016 and people sick of her

I am going to walk with the lions in the coliseum by saying the following since this is a I-love-Nicole thread but....

The circumstances surrounding this particular event leaves me with some doubt. I did not want to post this earlier during the thunder-and-heat of the GE campaign. Now that that is over, and hopefully everyone has cooled down for objective evaluation of each candidate post-mortem, I will the following.

That everyone going to town immediately with it with slightly wrong fact (posting auntie can't afford $80 tuition fees, incl Nicole cuz she said this on camera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FOUW4iA6b8&NR=1; but actually is auntie wants back $80 tuition deposit from cancelling though outside of proper notice; please see here what the 25-yr-of-VOLUNTEER-work person described why there was no refund http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I54Cra6a5XU ) is irrelevant. What bugs me is this... person has to decide if that scenario painted by the auntie to be one whereby it is not so much dire that "I'll work to get back to you what you want" or it is so much dire that in Nicole's case she cried right on the spot.

So she decided it was so much dire.

Another person (perhaps Chiam) person on the spot in same situation may offer to pay that $80 right there and then instead of breaking down helplessly crying. Or may offer to lend $80 right there and then allowing the auntie to tide over whatever reason she wanted that $80 while working with RC to get back that $80 proper, instead of breaking down helpless crying. I could be wrong, but can anyone show me that Nicole offered either to pay or to lend auntie $80 since the situation was so dire to make her cry? I can't tell since the video did not continue much after, that Nicole did make such offer away from the camera. Newbie error (but what about rest of NSP GRC team) or milking for camera?

:s11:

Objective opinions appreciated; trollings, thank you but no thank you.

i would say she cried probably becos of other plights the auntie is facing rather than the $80 incident alone. probably bcos she didnt realise $80 could meant so much to another ordinary person in a difficult situation.

but then again it could be wayang... thou i wouldnt want to harbour such intentions towards a young lady.

well bobian, age and experiences in life counts in such matters. lots of young ppl cannot bear to hear some of the more dire situations others are facing. i once had a 23yo broke down in tears in front of a group of us when she learned about some of the hard times i've been thru from other ppl. but i had already got over it, living happily and wasnt even complaining about anything. then i blur oso... to me it's life goes on, to some, it could be the worst thing they've ever heard.

or maybe the pressures on election campaign took toll on her and she just happened to encounter a chance to vent it out.

"All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players:They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts..."

Oppo or govt, the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players.

And me and you? we are also merely players in our own stage, everyday.
