simply put so if they win how? their salary give us ah.

Putting it bluntly is like telling a businessman asking gahmen to pay for him if he bankrupt. as taken from the blog , if it is bad planning im sure singapore willing to pay for "democracy"

but if it is to cover their own pocket when they know the risk. they dont deserve it

ok lah maybe the warehouse assistant since he do not earn as much as the others

I totally disagreed with u but i will not bother to argue. Reason ? I think this is a personal view point. If u feel unhappy, just dun donate. If u feel that they deserve support, just donate.. no need to say until this week.

No one is asking you to pay for democracy. This is not a case of a bankrupt man asking for help from the govt (as if they will help..)

This is a case of people doing what they want to do as a Singaporean and then asked for help if you can. If u dun want, just STFU and go on with your life.

Sorry for being so nasty (I am not usually like that) but I really feel unhappy with all the negative comments here... if u dun know life as a opposition, u are not entitled to make noise... if u have not volunteered a single day to help opposition, u have no idea how hard it is.

Not every one is a pappy.

To my Friends and Supporters

Would you consider helping to defray the costs and expenses incurred in running the NSP Marine Parade Campaign?

These include the following items:

(1) Production (Artwork and Printing) of Flyers, Posters, Banners, Election Booklets

(2) Postage and distribution of Election Booklets to Marine Parade residents

(3) Labour to put up and take down Posters and Banners

(4) Production of “Chope” Tissue Packs

(5) Setting up stage, barricades, spotlights, sound system, etc for Rally at Aljunied Open Field on 28 April 2011

(6) Rental of lorry, with driver and fixing of ambulating loud speakers for 9 days

(7) Food and refreshments for volunteers

(8) T-shirts for volunteers

(9) Translation services

(10) Rental of room for press conference

(11) Rental of video equipment

(12) Telecommunications, Transport, photocopying, stationery and incidentals

We are currently in the process of compiling the list of costs and expenses for the Marine Parade Campaign (excluding items to be borne by NSP at party level).

Based on the invoices at hand to date, the Marine Parade Campaign expenses are well over $35,000 and will be borne by my team mates and I personally, as candidates.

I am legally allowed to ask for contributions from fellow Singaporeans. Hence, do consider if you could help.

** No amount is too small! **

Your contribution of any amount, will be very much appreciated!

Any excess over the amount required to cover the costs of the Marine Parade Campaign will be handed to NSP.

Yours sincerely

Nicole Seah

as i said , im sure many dont mind paying for democracy. But is different for a party to spend beyond what they can afford and cant

look at RP , WP , SPP ,SDP etc
rp is a new party somemore

Nicole Seah Appeals to “defray” cost of running a election campiagn?

This appeals made me question NSP election campaign and their credibility as a party. It was mentioned that the appeal was to help them cover the cost of running an election , so did the members gathered a large amount of debt running this election. So was it just for the purpose of reimbursement of the cost , so it wont need to hurt their pocket and suffer any financial losses?

Next wasn’t there supposed to be a budget? does that mean they dis-regard their budget and went beyond their mean thus incurring such debt. If it is the case how are they able to lead a GRC much less a country if they couldnt even deal with a simple election budget. How can we trust them to run our country finance next time?. Isnt this akin to 3rd world countries spending more then can afford expecting the world bank to bail them out?

If it was because of bad planning , i am sure many Singaporean are willing to help for the sake of “democracy” . But if it was just to reimbursed their pocket just because they fail to win the election , It is a disappointment and i would say that they do not deserve our help. There is no such thing as a sure win campaign , Parties and its candidate are supposed to plan within their means and run the campaign expecting these cost as un-recoverable in the event they lost.

Look at the reform party , they may not have the largest voice in the election. But perhaps it is due to them being prudent , rather then spending money they do not have. So far from what i know , no other parties have ever made such a request and NSP “Marine parade” is the first. What about SDA lost election deposit who is going to return that to them?, There is a reason why WP is the most respected opposition party amongst the electorate , they spent what they have within their means with a clear concise strategy. Perhaps NSP should take a leaf from this veteran party.

Personally i find it of sour taste if their campaign to get back the money was to succeed. It would mean every dog , cat and monkey would run a election with enormous cost and expect us to foot the bill? making the process of election a joke

SO NSP IT IS OF MY OPINION YOU ARE A JOKE

i will donate to him luh:) if he ask me that is

Ya this is a kind gesture...support support...we should support passionate people with a mission to serve the people even though they are from a lower income group...sometimes such people will turn out to be total gems as they truly understand the plight of some Singaporeans?

can opps i mean probably. Someone asked why not goh meng seng etc ask. They ask mostly likely wun be as effective as nicole

coz if she takes up the endorsement, pappies will used it against her... saying that she is doing this for fame/money nia... it was wise of her to reject tt n oso that freaking piece of s**t's movie offer...

35k is indeed alot for the 5 members... n one of them is only a warehouse assistant...
so it is ok for her to ask... nth wrong... just not very gd to transfer to her directly...

some ppl r saying that they shouldn't overspent if they do not have the meants to do it... but if they don't do all that they r doing, ppl won't even notice... for e.g. RP

how many of us r complaining RP is s**t becoz they are not around on ground/contest for the sake of contesting... blah blah blah...

so to upz presence, they must do it for a chance...

pls use ur brains when arguing...

Very well put. Some people don't deserve the opportunity to vote.

Most of the parties, the funds come from well-wishers, public donations. People appreciate their work for the community.

Save your breath, civicguy. Some just don't get it.
