My parents are going to Japan this month. Wanna ask them to get a set for me.

No point, the only sets available at retail shops in Japan are effectively region/language locked to Japan. The multilanguage set is only available from My Nintendo Store via lottery.

In the end the third party reseller said no stock and stock only coming in July. Seller proposed sending an empty box inside with a note to send the product over next month which i didnt feel very comfortable with.

Lucky i didnt cancel my $88 256gb card from Sandisk official seller. Sent over in just over 24hrs.

The switch 2 already have built in 256gb storage.... getting the same 256gb card seems like pointless.

Its more than doubling the storage since some will be used for the OS. Quite decent to me.

512gb super rare.
1tb almost impossible.

No choice but to get 256gb to tide over while awaiting availability and prices to drop. Probably get 1tb or 2tb next time.
