I have the Lite version.

Have stopped playing for a while. But life now is boring. So am thinking of getting either the OLED or the Switch 2. So that 2 ore more players can play together, and connected to a bigger screen.

Am not anal on graphics and audio. Not a gamer either. Just want to pass time when we really have nothing to do.

I can get the Switch 2 in Australia for A$699 / S$585 (before the GST refund). Or I can get the OLED in Singapore for around S$36x? Considering that I'm not an avid gamer, is the 'additional' $200 worth it to get the Switch 2 version?

It would very much depend on what games you have in mind since performance/graphics isn't a concern for you. For example, if you want to play mario kart world, then it can only be done on switch 2 since there is no switch 1 version of the game.

Given what you mentioned, I would suggest the switch 2 since it has more long-term value. As time goes by, there will likely be more switch 2 only games. At the same time, the switch 2 is also backwards compatible with switch 1 games. And if in future should you decide that you want to play your switch 1 games with better graphics/performance on the switch 2, you can purchase "upgrade packs" for them if they are available.

Other than that, the other consideration would be the warranty for the console.

Shopee has prices for Switch 2 (local set) that are not far from Aussie price if you use their vouchers
