hmm i seem to get some unintuitive experience from the note2 batt.
First day I had it, I was complaining as battery drain seemed fast - certainly not what other users were saying. Would be in HWZ reading a few pages, then posting a reply and finding a noticeable batt drop. Can't remember...was it 5%?

But seems like when I play games, I expect (based on above experience) to lose more batt. But often find myself pleasantly surprised.

Standby also pretty good. Charge one night...then sleep, wake up go through a workday with moderate battery usage wassapp, surfing, gaming, then 3am still 40%. Next day wake up still can use a while then noon time 30% decide to charge.

paiseh, can't post image. it's 5hrs' 45% Consumed by Screen.

I think 5 hrs is pretty average i think? Try turning off some background data for your apps. And check your app notifications like weather. Make sure its not updating like every 15mins or so.

Wow, can you share how you managed to make your note 2 batt last so long?

My batt life of note 2 more like hero1 and TS, I have to charge around 1.5 times to 2 times a day. I am thinking of spending some money to buy a extra batt and batt charger to help. Did I did something wrong, my phone still stock-like from the day I bought it.

how u did tt???????
Actual I never tweak anything. Only thing I did is to off those background data for those applications which I dun need. I never on whatever power saving mode.. Thats why I said note 2 battery life is impressive for me. My emails are not push. As and when if I wanna check, I'll open email app and read.

How the heck do you drain that much battery from your phone? What have you been using it for? I have pushmail, everything syncing, and I can last around 1 full day with LTE switched on, so it's like 12 hours before my battery hits 20% like that?

i tried installing battery saving apps and it doesnt seems to help.

Well there's your problem right there. Never install any apps that claim to improve battery life. They never ever work. Ever.

I'm surprised that no one has pointed this out yet, but you people are complaining about 6 hours screen on time with 4G being sucked down as bad?

The Note 2 is rated at 8 hours screen on time on wifi. When they test this, they manually turn off 4G and 3G and fall back to GPRS, which consumes the least amount of power.

Video Playback is rated at 11 hours. This is done with the phone put in airplane mode.

Both tests are done at 50% screen brightness.

As satch has pointed out, you need to tackle the root of the problem.

The problem, from reading the thread, is your usage habits and your expectations.

1. Do you use your phone on autobrightness outdoors/brightly lit area for the majority of the time?
2. Are you leaving 4G on all the time?

Point 1 - Autobrightness will scale your screen brightness settings automatically according to background lighting. A bright room will cause your screen to max out brightness even though it's readable at 50%.

Solution: Brightness settings to manual, lowest setting as often as possible. You'll see a big improvement.

Point 2 - Singapore's 4G network is still in it's infancy and it's spotty at it's best. What does this mean for your 4G radio? If it's on, it means that it's always seeking a 4G connection even if there's none. What does this do? It drains your battery. Same way being in a low reception area drains your battery fast.

Solution: If you're not using your phone, turn 4G off. You don't need super speeds to receive push notifications, and if you're syncing massive amounts of data on mobile data, you really should be setting it to sync on wifi only. Your wallet will thank you later. Turn on 4G only when you're surfing the web etc. Troublesome? Which is worse, having to hit the 4G toggle when you want to surf or having to scramble for a charger?

A last note is that from all the screens I can see, you guys have perfectly normal battery consumption where the screen takes up the majority of battery consumption. That is normal. This isn't your nokia 3310 days where you don't have to charge for days on end. Get used to charging every night when you get home. Manage your expectations.

Actually I find the new auto-brightness w/ offset works a lot better than any of the Samsung phones in the past. It actually scales quite well when you offset to your liking. It's not apple perfect, but a marked improvement.

OMG you say apple perfect? My bro's IP4s barely works unless I shine a torchlight into the sensor.

BUT. That said, manual adjustment will give you the best mileage simply because the more sensors at work....

IMO just have a toggle for 0%/30%/50%/70% and most of the time every situation is satisfied.

I never had a single issue with the ipad light sensor, it was always just nice. Top much effort to keep toggling also.
