Juice defender works like a charm. The massive draining of batt most of the time is due to your phone hopping between g->3g ->4g -> Wifi. Install battery monitors to see what apps are waking your device and stop their notification by signing out or settings.

Blocking the phone's auto network switching via 15min interval polling/notification will save your batt like mad.

Like many have said, brightness down, gps off, wifi off, control of network switching and your note 2 should last like a tank.

i dropped only 6% when i left home for 6 hours. With whatsapp and 4g surfing in between.

Hi all,

Here is my screenshots on my Note 2 for battery life. Out of the box with no tweaking whatsoever, only turned on the built-in power saving mode in Note 2.
Forgot to charge it last night and is still going strong. I am impress with its performance so far except our network sucks. Lots of connect/disconnect issue makes waiting to download abit frustrating. I am on starhub

i am quite sure its the 4g issue... before i activated my 4g and before i had the update ... my battery was very strong. i turn on bluetooth to wireless headset and listen to music all the way for 3 hours stright. and using 3g to surf facebook... 7.30am started using non stop till 9plus. only drain up abt 5%... still left wif 95%... after i updated to the new FW and activated 4g... its like WOW.... within an hours from 100% drop till 85%.... i was shock how fast it was drain off... and for the whole day 8.0am start work till 6pm... started using 7.30am... 100% batt life reach home at 7pm... left with 10%...

using my phone for minor whatsapp. chaton, and snap a few pictures. and only took up a call that last for 1 min...

No idea... This is the more important screenshot...

Looks like you have been using your phone continuously for 12 hrs+ ??? That's very strong battery life isn't it? Also.. the weak signal connection could be the one causing battery drain.... Singapore's 4G really cannot make it.

Yeah I'm gonna try how it goes without 4G tomorrow.
Somehow I expected maybe around 5 hours screen on time though... since alot of people are reporting around 6.

Mm not sure if "alot of people" here with a LTE set reported 6hrs of screen time but I know 6hrs screen time seems more for the 3G sets instead..?

Anyway are you on starhub? I'm on starhub and they claim to have 4G in CBD area.. Yeah right. I work at Raffles Place and theres no 4G at all???? How specific do they define "CBD" I wonder... With 4G and WIFI turned on the whole day just to test if the battery can last, my phone lasted all the way from morning fully charged till 9+ pm with close to 3hrs screen time. Very good already in my opinion as compared to my previous S3. Will try to monitor again some other days with LTE turned off and with both LTE and WIFI turned off.

I'm having WIFI on at all times because Google Now seems to be more precise with WIFI on even without an active WIFI connection. Hehe, trying to see Google Now make some wonders. :)

I was a Plaza Singapura just now after work and man Google Now rocks! It showed me cards showing :
1) Route/ETA to Home
2) Bus and time schedules at the nearest bus stop
3) Golden Village PS Movies and the show times
4) Weather
5) Nearby interesting places
6) Route/ETA to Work (yeah this is stupid.. i guess Google Now still hasn't figured out my working hours yet. It's supposed to get more accurate/smarter with more use right? Haha)

Indeed! It's making my smart phone even smarter. I especially like the cards showing the bus schedules at the bus stop. I don't even need to pull these data anymore via IRIS or ShowNearBy or other apps. These information are simply presented to me at the very moment I want.

I know Google Now drains battery, but I simply cannot refuse the wonders of Google Now at the moment. Maybe one day.. this novelty will die off but definitely not now. =:p

Anyone encounter the media server battery drain? I realised it is the highest or 2nd highest batt usage% to screen time, whenever im listening music using stock media player for quite a long time. The % of media server is like 2x the % of media player. Is it normal? Or something is wrong?

Now that you mention it, I realize my battery life is indeed draining faster before I did the minor update

Fully charged my note 2 to 100% and left it to standby for around 5 hours plus without any form of usage. Batt dropped to 88%.

My batt used to be able to get past a day with frequent usage of whatsapp and internet surfing. Anybody has any idea why this is happening?
