Note 3 Battery Drain. HELP.

switched of Volte and battery levels are back to previous levels

not worth it imo, will probably let you guys to test it out and make it slightly more stable and release power efficient upgrades before I switch it back on again.

I experience the battery drain only when I roam overseas(2hrs drop 50%). When back in Singapore the battery life is very good (78% from morning to late night).Have anyone of you experience this????

Read the posts above. All of us experienced this while roaming. No idea what is causing this.

I have exactly the same problem. Drain overseas and perfectly alright in Singapore. Only happened in July onwards
Before july, all travels were ok.

actually many other countries already in progress of introducing volte like what singapore is doing.

the batt drain is indeed probably due to the software, which i think there is one coming along based on the trend on sammobile... Just gonna wait and see how it goes..

Means have not launch VoLTE right?

So cannot say like Singapore is doing as Singapore have launched already.

Have you tested overseas?
I kind of believe the overseas travellers.
If some one share something it could be possible that it happened.

it's back to normal now that I'm back in Singapore. It was happening during a business trip to china. turned wifi on only (airplane mode + wifi).. I wonder what in china caused it to have 5-6 hrs per battery and wakelock disabled. battery life is now back to 40 hours per battery back in sg.

my one same... and it happened only recently like for the last 2 months..

everytime i travelled to thailand or chinese, the phone from 100% every few minutes drop 1 percent... usually in 6-7 hours my phone is flat.. but in singapore it is back to normal.

anybody any idea why...???

Nope gone. I downgraded my Os as well to be safe, so might have reset it fully

Go to Settings -> Device -> Call -> Outgoing voice call settings and select "Do not allow VoLTE calls"

Samsung people dont know these issues. Kept telling me delete apps. Then i think why need smartphone with no apps?

In the past, Voice Call is on 3G network and Data is on LTE network. Now with VoLTE, both Voice Call and Data are on LTE network

just solved android core apps drain battery issue on my phone...guess what caused it....it is Viber!
And this only happened after upgrade to kit kat 4.4.2

I holding on to 2 note 3.
The one with better battery life is the one with viber installed.

I am not sure what cause the battery drain in Note 3 here....I am holding S4 Active... just want to bring across the point that apps do drain battery in some cases.

after upgrade to 4.4.2, Android Core Apps constantly used up at least 20% of my battery...after I disable most of settings in Viber, I don't see Android Core Apps in my battery usage list any more...

my guess is some apps may be using some android core apps or android system features/modules that make it hard to pin point to the apps that is the real culprit

My note 3 also getting really poor battery these days

Use to can get 5 to 6 hour screen time, now more like 2 or 3 (4 if I'm really lucky and turn off lte)

Phone really goes haywire and SMS also doesnt function properly.

I hope Samsung can settle this. Suspect is the Kit Kat and VoLTE not working properly. Only suffer this during the latest update

i went malaysia and my phone also die as fast as in singapore. not much difference...
