Well to each his own... all the best to your studies! Just curious how old are u? fresh from Uni or already working for some time? :) You and my friend (mentioned in my earlier post) are at extreme ends haha:s8: I joked with my friend that he is 'superman' trying to juggle bet. work, family and studies.
I'm already at my late 20s and have a couple of years of working experience. Your friend still need to juggle with work and family. I only need to spend one weekend evening to eat with my family will do. hahah. I think that's the good thing about being single. :D

Nice to see the discussions are back here in full force :)
I am going to pursue Info Systems and intend to complete in 1 year flat . Much like my friend here ``DarkNight`` i too have no obligations . Studies on my mind ! Btw did anyone get mails for choosing subjects . In my opinion NTU is supposed to send it to us . Just curious .
Also anyone looking for Hostel accommodation . Mine got rejected :( . looking for something good an affordable . Any suggestions guys ..??
good to know that there's someone who is in the same boat as me!

as for accommodation wise, you can look in the jurong west st 90 area, it's very near to school with quite a few amenities around. Have you try Singapore Property, Property for Sale/Rent, Singapore Real Estate | PropertyGuru ? I guess you should be able to get a rough gauge of the price around the area through that website. Basically, Singapore's property market had been on the rise for the past few years and that also applies to the rental market.

It seems like a very hectic course.

Anyone can share where can download notes or what is the book list for KM or other courses in advance for better prep?:D

Thanks in advance;)

For KM, the foundations of KM course which is a core module btw, has 3 text-books. You can buy them from NTU's bookstore. To pass the exams with good grades, you must have at least read 2 out of 3 books by the time you're done with your assignments as some of the questions asked will be from the textbooks themselves.

Yes i had a search around and have isolated the jurong west area as a possible place to put up . I found a good hostel there as well . My uncle who lives in Singapore ( unlike me ) tells me that Boon Lay is nearby and has quite a few good eating places . I will be needing close eating joints as well :)
Btw i also have 3 years of work experience :) I am looking forward to studing infsys to enhance my profile .! Cheers !

just as long as you have decent results (avg > 70) you should be fine.. no worries, just try.

No guarantee. Like all other undergraduate programmes, it depends very much on the number of applicants applying for the course (demands) and how good they are. Don't bother to ask in this forum as no one will know the answer. Just apply and try... Good luck :)

Hi Evilbear,

I have enrolled the Info Studies program and below is an extract of the email from the program coordinator. I suggest you checked your personal email for course updates/FAQ or contact your program coordinator. They should have also arranged an orientation session a week before semester starts (my program is conducting an orientation on the 7-Aug)

Deciding on courses

Some students have asked how to decide which courses to take, and how to attend class if they’re not registered for the course yet. The time-honoured method at universities is to attend all the classes in the first week. Listen to what the instructor has to say about the course, and pick up the syllabus from the instructor.

You don’t need to be registered for the course to attend the first class. However, you have to choose and register for your courses before the deadline for course registration period. Do note that if you missed the course registration deadline, 23 Aug 2012, 11:59pm (2359hrs), you will not be allowed to register for courses after that.

Yeah, I got that email too.

For this coming semester, I will be taking 'Information Architecture and Design' on Monday and sort of choosing between 'Data Mining' and 'Managing Information Systems', both falling on Fri same time. -.-

Oh yeah. Already made the decision to register which modules this semester.

Busy reading up materials for the first module (compulsory module which is already pre-registered) :)
