the annoying thing about these cards is the min spend on non-fairprice items. i just use the card to collect and redeem linkpoints.

1.The Imagine >=5% no minimum spend but got maximum 100 per card:s13:
2.Citi SMRT at kallang wave no min spend got 7%
3.Singpost even if buy NTUC $500 vouchers at 6% rebate can serve 1-2 months.

Only above method 3 need min spend which is easy to hit if u combine with 7% online spend, u still can earn link points if use member card which comes with 4% bonus + ntuc item discount + other benefits.

So why still wana use OCBC plus CC:D

200 per month spend on ntuc will cover the $10 cost.
U alrdy spend 400 per month, u will get around 50% more rebate even if pay $10 per month, the calculation in previous post. Feel free to correct me:)

With the new OCBC 360 Savings Acct that will give 1% for $400 spending/month, the usage of the OCBC NTUC Plus card is now worth the while?

It depends on your spending habits and workflow. A person with little intent to capitalise on NTUC membership has little to gain from the new incentives, and will be better served getting the normal Plus! card. If you are an NTUC member, you should be thinking of this in sequence:

1) How do I recoup the $9/mth membership fee. (e.g. taking courses etc.)
2) What is the best way to use membership to subsidise the fee for using OCBC NTUC Plus (e.g. making alot of supplementary cards).
3) How do I pay the membership fee with least cost. (e.g. paying via OCBC NTUC Plus Card.
4) How do I allocate my spendings. (i.e. just use the x% I've described before, with slight changes here and there)

i have terminated my giro linkage with NTUC on on my bank acc, would that be sufficient to end my membership?

Man these days it's hard to justify the $9 a month

Why so? If single, i would agree its difficult. For a family, its pretty easy. In addition, Plus member can buy cheaper term insurance from NTUC Income.

Fully agree. These are decent benefits.

(3) gets extra linkpoints as well

Another good thing about being an ntuc member and getting the uplus visa credit card is that there's also a complimentary ocbc ntuc starter bank account. No minimum and gives 0.2% interest for 1st 50k and 0.4% interest of above 50k. Better than normal savings account. Lower than cimb's star saver account but ocbc's atm network is much larger and can also use at uob atm.

ntuc membership if want to cancel is very troublesome.
u call them to cancel, they will drag on and on for months.

For me, i got pissed off and deleted the GIRO arrangement on the online banking.
Then they keep sending mails by post asking me to pay the membership fee since the GIRO is gone.
i bochup

den after a few months they call and chase for the membership fees , i argue with them saying that i have requested to membership cancellation and it is their fault for delaying my application. then they finally agreed to waive all my ' overdue membership fees'.

pissed off.
