I don't understand this. Show ntuc union card (not the credit card) and swipe using capita credit card?

Yes. NTUC member card is just used to collect points.
For capita, I believe he is talking about capita vouchers. Capita credit card sometimes got "buy capita voucher" promotion, e.g. Buy $100 voucher got another $10 free.

if I have both a NTUC plus (Silver) and a Plus (black) card, can I just show my NRIC at NTUC to get link points? I understand that there is a 4% cash rebate and linkpoints for the NTUC plus (Silver) card. Would I be able to get the same rebate if I show the Plus (Black) card?

thanks.

Below is quoted from the T&C of the 4% rebate programme.

"Plus! Visa Credit / Debit Cardmembers and NTUC Plus! Visa Credit / Debit Cardmembers must accumulate at least S$500 and S$400 worth of Visa transactions respectively, per card account, outside FairPrice outlets and FairPrice Online in one calendar month to be eligible for the '4% rebates' in that same month. All transactions must be charged to a NTUC Plus! or Plus! Visa Credit / Debit card."

Correct me if I am wrong, does it mean that spending anything (excluding purchase from fairprice) for min $500 would received 4% rebate?

Seems like quite a good deal? Or did I get the meaning wrongly?

with $500/$400 minimum outside NTUC FP spendings, you get

2x linkpoints for NTUC FP purchase above $20 per receipt (by NTUC)
.5x linkpoints for VISA spendings for NTUC FP (by OCBC)
3.5x linkpoints for VISA spendings for NTUC FP (by OCBC)
+4% membership rebates
=8% cash rebates
if you use NTUC CC to pay.

without minimum spendings outside NTUC, you get

2x linkpoints for NTUC FP purchase above $20 per receipt (by NTUC)
.5x linkpoints for VISA spendings for NTUC FP (by OCBC)
+4% membership rebates
=5.67% cash rebates
if you use NTUC CC to pay

without minimum spendings outside NTUC and without using NTUC CC, you get

2x linkpoints for NTUC FP purchase above $20 per receipt (by NTUC)
+4% membership rebates
=5.33% cash rebates
if you use other payment method + NTUC membership card to pay

If you meet the minimum spendings outside NTUC FP and using NTUC CC to pay, you will only gain 2.67% more cash rebates.

Just use any payment method that gives >2.67% cash rebates and you will do better, no need to meet the outside NTUC FP minimum spendings.

With the new OCBC 360 Savings Acct that will give 1% for $400 spending/month, the usage of the OCBC NTUC Plus card is now worth the while?

I'm getting confused....
So lets say I get the NTUC Plus card, then spend:
$X on purchases unrelated to Fairprice or Unity,
$Y on Fairprice and Unity purchases.

Then so long as $X+Y>$400, I will get my 1% interest from OCBC 360
In addition, so long as $Y>400, I will also get up to 9% total rebates on my Fairprice and Unity purchases, else I only get 0.33%

Correct?

Hi crandfs,

You're looking at 2 separate benefits.

For the 360 Account bonus interest, you will simply need to charge $400 to any of your credit cards issued by OCBC Bank. This includes NTUC Plus credit cards.

Plus! Visa debit/ credit card and NTUC Plus! Visa debit/ credit card cardholders will earn LinkPoints for transactions on the cards.

For transactions made at FairPrice outlets, you will earn 2 LinkPoints for every S$1 spent. For transactions made outside of FairPrice outlets, you will earn 1 LinkPoint for every S$2 spent.

For transactions made outside of FairPrice outlets, you will earn 1 LinkPoint for every S$2 spent.

Hope this helps!

Eh, I remember reading someone said transactions on NTUC Plus card cannot be used to satisfy the $400 requirement for 1% interest OCBC 360?
So that's wrong? Confirm?! This will drastically change my strategy!

How you come to the conclusion i trust who more? I am simply asking for confirmation, because even the official reply can sometimes miss out things.

I thought the ntuc plus card is considered a business/corporate card, as the "somebody" said he verified with ocbc a few pages back, therefore not included. Ocbc can pls confirm, thanks.

wah lau, OCBC already confirmed in post #148, u ks, still need double confirmation? See the t&C below:

"You just need to spend a minimum of S$400 across your OCBC Credit Cards (examples of eligible cards are Titanium, Platinum, FRANK, Robinsons, Plus! and Best Denki)."

Hi crandfs,

Are you referring to the NTUC Plus Credit Card? The spending criteria applies to transactions charged to any credit card issued by OCBC Bank, including NTUC Plus Credit Cards.
