Use Maybank card to pay to get 5% rebates

Use Plus card to collect link points (1.33%). do not use plus card to pay

If u r NTUC union member paying $9 a mth, u get an additiona 4-5%yearly rebates

Been trying to confirm this, can the Maybank card be used at all NTUCs and still get the 5% rebate? If I remember correctly, it was only the NTUC xtras...

If like that, I can scan my Plus card for rebates and then use Maybank card for that 5%;) Too good to be true?

Yes, you can scan your Plus card for rebates and linkpoints and use Maybank card for the 5% rebate. Basically, all NTUC outlets now accept VISA/Mastercard for payment

happen to find this thread...

hmmm... so can use maybank credit card to buy at ntuc for 5% rebate and then at the same time use ntuc ocbc plus credit card to get linkpoints?
meaning need to tell the casher in advance which card to use...

does NTUC accept ezlink card?

if yes, won't the HSBC revolution card or std chart Singpost card be more worth it? since they offer 7% and 6% rebates for all ezlink transactions.

NTUC Plus! Credit, Debit & Supplementary card FAQs

When I make purchases at NTUC FairPrice or LinkPoints merchants, can I use the NTUC Plus! Card to earn the LinkPoints but use another credit/debit card for payment?

No. you cannot. You can only use one card to pay for your purchases and to earn LinkPoints. The same card must be used to pay for your purchases and to earn LinkPoints.

yes u can make payment with another CC and the OCBC card can be used to earn link points ONLY, but subjected to a minimum spend... i think $20 before u can earn points

I usually get around with this by paying via Citibank SMRT card together with NTUC union member card so that I earn the Linkpoints plus 5% rebates with Citibank SMRT card.

No need, you just pass both MayBank CC and NTUC OCBC Plus CC.
The cashier know what to do b'coz alot of ppl are doing this.

wow... thanks for the info...
i got maybank card but hardly use it... how to know when they have 10% rebate promo?

actually the HSBC revolution card 7% ezlink rebate is quite good if it can use at all supermarkets and transports. but the min $300 spend per mth requirement is a little tough to meet because most of my other expenses go to UOB one card for better rebates :)

Singpost card 6% rebate sounds good but with requirement min $500 spend per mth.. not nice.

citibank card also.. the min spend requirement is there in order to get rebate.

Maybank card is quite ok. 5% rebate. But they just introduce the 12k min annual spend in order to continue the card with fee waiver. So i guess it is hard to get fee waiver? 12k min spend! which is 1k per mth!

Perhaps in theory you're not supposed to use the NTUC Plus credit/debit card that way, but I've never had a problem doing so before... (usually show my Plus Visa card to earn link points and pay with Amex or Citi Visa).

In fact, if you're an NTUC member I think you can just scan your NRIC/Drivers' licence to earn link points, so they probably decided it's not worth trying to enforce this technicality...
