Recently someone here mentioned that it is possible to get temporary nursing home, even for as short as one day.
There's a possibility that I might need one ( but not just one day).
How to go about getting one, especially if at short notice?

It's usually arranged by government hospitals

I already discharged. Will they help?
I'm totally dependent on my helper now.
Can't do anything myself. Typing this with one figure.
Am praying that her child's surgery goes well. She and her family decided that she stay with me. But I'm a worrier...

Short notice, only way that I can think of is via the private route. But it will be very expensive. Ballpark figure could be 4k+ -5k, depending on daily needs. Not sure if my figures are still up to date.

Otherwise, you have to go via AIC if you want subsidy.

I placed my mum in Assisi Hospice for 12 days. Asked on Fri, Tues confirmed, Wed admitted. Cost is $200 per day, paid by Medisave.

Probably to community hospital, otherwise hospitals (for discharged patients) can loan a hospital bed to your house, you pay for a pte nurse/helper if needed.

Many nursing homes offer respite care services, and you can inquire directly about their availability and application process.

What’s your long-term plan? Got other informal help, e.g. family not?

If dun haf / want to go nursing home, can go polyclinic. If recently discharged, got chest x-ray, nil MDRO, no hiam location, got $$ to pay after means test, should be quite fast.

If for respite, need to wait.

If replacing helper, dun need nursing home.
